Barney's is an institution! One of the best patios in the city. They have stepped up their food game this year. The Barney's Burger was excellent.
Best patio in london. Lots of room, can be private or public, and if it’s a nice day, and you want to people watch, this is the place. New food menu. Decent but a little pricy. It gets very busy on nice weekend weather days. Live dj on weekend nights. Located conveniently downtown london. Lots of reactants and pubs walking distance. Parking can be a pain, but worth it. Close to Victoria park which is the downtown park. So yeah, if you’re a patio person, you need to try Barney’s!
Great place to hang out and enjoy the nice weather!! Friendly staff and environment and vibe that really makes it a fun experience!!! Wonderful will come again!!!
Now - I’ve been here many times in my life, as a student & just for work lunches.
I went for a Friday lunch. It’s nearing exam time for Western so there were a few tables of students there (made me reminisce of those olden times). There was no server so we had to order at the bar, no big deal there. And it was like 13 C so feeling closer to spring than other days recently.
We got the house made pretzel with beer cheese dip - this was so good! The pretzel was soft, the dip was flavourful (apparently the wife could taste the beer, I’m immune to it now I guess), and it was a good amount of dip. I hate, hate, hate when places don’t give you enough dip for what you buy. Barney’s is the exception here!
We also got the veggie nachos to share - added guacamole ($4). You immediately think “is that worth it?” But look at the pic - great amount of guac AND it tasted good. Not as good as my homemade one but really good 😉
You get sour cream and salsa as well, again good amounts. There’s also like a Tex Amex cheese dip - this was the worst part. Tasted more like a mushroom gravy or something?? Would just suggest asking for some extra salsa instead, IMHO.
Definitely had lots of leftovers and reheated fairly well (this would be good for 4 people). Tried the house lager as well - they actually make it in house (I think you can still see the brewing setup in the windows, if I remember correctly) & it’s pretty good. The server at the bar was pleasant, helpful, and fun to chat with!
The only thing, and this isn’t only with Barney’s, but man, I wish some place would make a good layered nachos. I hate having everything up front & then 2 layers below of just nacho chips. Email me if you know a place that does this please!!
Visited during the Xmas season with friends. The ambience was so beautiful and festive. Picture worthy! The food and service was great even though it was a very busy evening. We had food options from their Xmas menu, and a warm drink that was soo yummy! I wish it was warmer inside but still, it was an amazing time and I would go back again!
Frank made our night! Such amazing service, on top of everything and so kind and friendly.
Love the ambiance of this place, the best in whole London for drinks as well as food.

Waited to be seated for over 5 minutes when it wasn’t busy at all, and eventually the server was being completely rude about seating and he said and I quote “if you want drinks you can order it at the bar”… at 9:30pm…

great patio! the strawberry margs are great (and on special on Tuesdays). the cauliflower taco was very disappointing and had 2 pieces of plain cauliflower on a few strings of cabbage with no sauce. Love Barneys for a fun night, just would not recommend the food.

If you are an Arsenal fan and be treated worst than prison. This is the place to be and got you cover. I have never gone to Barney’s patio in downtown London, Ontario. However, when there is a party going on Friday night or weekend. The line up is huge and blocking the pavement. By the way, if anyone is an Arsenal also known as The Gunners/Gooners fan. I would stay away from Barney’s as one of the patron was calling me and shouting profanity of sportsmanship of my support for wearing my Arsenal football kit. I bet this bar patio is made for Tottenham Hotspurs, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool F.C and Chelsea F.C fans. It does not matter about winning the Premier League the team you support have to their name, nor you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan or Springboks rugby fan for example. As an Arsenal known as The Gunners fan, I would not patronize nor visit this bar patio how one of their patrons who were serving them shouting profanity and about an Arsenal team as I am wearing their new Arsenal: Home Kit. I am not going to say who he looks like, but accepting a business that dislikes another sports team is unacceptable in a bad manner. Businesses should denied serve to any customers with their bad behaviour in public especially on their property. I hope karma will teach him a lesson and just mind his own business. Barney’s should not accept or allow anyone on their premises and shout profanity to people outside of their premises. I would not accept this kind of act and any Arsenal fans should stay away. I would not accept that man’s apology nor Barney’s just because I am wearing an Adidas Arsenal football/soccer home kit. I would rather be at the Rec Room, Jack Astor’s, East Side Mario’s or Real Canadian Brewhouse in the Masonville area of the city than how rowdy downtown young people can be. I am treated better there than Barney’s even I never went to their establishment once. Arsenal fans known as The Gooners, stay away from Barney’s. I am proud of myself wearing an Arsenal jersey and it is not about how many titles our team wins. It is about our representation. In the end, I walked away after that patron shout out to me. Hopefully, he will never do this to any Arsenal fans or other teams he is competing against. Barney’s lost my business and I will never go here on my birthday. I will wear my Arsenal jersey, and celebrate my birthday at Rec Room and Jack Astor’s in the Masonville area. Come on You Gooners! Have some dignity, equality and human rights! Feel free to wear your Arsenal gears and be proud to be The Gunners. Arsenal fans should not patronized this business who are Manchester United fans bashing The Gunners. I do not bother other people what team you support or degrading you for wearing something another person dislike. Businesses like Barney’s should tell any patrons who are aggressive to be asked to leave their property. This should never happen again to any Arsenal F.C fans. Shame on that patron and your business. I hope no Arsenal fans will never be treated poorly just by one foolish person to say that. I would rather go to the Rec Room and be treated equality there than Barney’s. I was not feeling threatened of that patron for wearing an Arsenal jersey, but shouting profanity is not acceptable. That is why Barney’s lost my business because of this incident. Jack Astor’s restaurant by Masonville is a better spot for me next time. Why would I come to your business; when someone is being aggressive over an Arsenal jersey that I am wearing, eh? Arsenal fans please STAY AWAY from Barney’s! Go Arsenal Gooners!
Update: I am not blaming or disliking Barney’s patio in downtown London, Ontario. I dislike one of your patrons who was shouting profanity of my Arsenal team as I am wearing their home kit jersey. Arsenal fans should avoid this establishment. The Gooners should support another bar whether it is Rec Room, Jack Astor’s, Montana’s or Real Canadian Brewhouse. You lost a future customer because of one of your patrons cursing me as an Arsenal fan. Never in my life I will come to B

1 star for not being pet friendly on top of being extremely rude.
Outside patio is great. No
Parking: The best burger I've had in years!
Kid-friendliness: It's a bar. Don't recommend it.
