Delicious beef and Guiness Pie, wonderful service, fixed a problem quickly and thoughtfully.

Last night was the first night I have been to MacCool’s since it re-opened. I went expecting to find their original menu but it has changed. I was sad that the mini Yorkshire Shepard’s pie wasn’t on the menu anymore so I ordered the Yorkshire Butter Chicken wrap. It. Was. DELICIOUS!! The food was phenomenal! My friends had “the best grilled cheese they’d ever tasted”(jalapeño grilled cheese) and the most tender chicken tenders. There weren’t many patrons, not sure if it’s because the website says it’s still closed or because they are newly re-opened but people are missing out! Although the menu has slightly changed, I can say I am pleased with it and I have a new favourite to order! (I’m a very picky eater so high praise to the chef and the new owners!)

The service was good. We believe the server did his absolute best. However, the food was appalling. We used to come here when we lived in london and while we were in town we just decided to eat here again since we wanted their mini yorkies. Unfortunately, they took it out of the menu. Lol i remember this is what most people usually come here for.
Also, they advertise they serve 7 oz steak but in reality we were told it was just a 5oz steak but the price is still for the 7oz steak. LOL. Their tuscan lemon pasta looked and tasted like puke and the steak wrap tasted like i was eating a pound of salt. If i wanted salt, i could’ve just bought it from the grocery store, not spend almost $30 on a salt wrap! The prices do not even justify any of what we ordered. We told them about it but all they did was offer us dessert. I didn’t even want it but just decided to take it home. You could’ve halfed our bill since we barely touched our food. Overall, what a disgusting and disappointing experience.

Ordered takeout today for 4 adults and 1 kid. Some meals (schnitzel and southwest burger) were great but the others were not so great. For the Cajun salmon bowl, the salmon was almost hard on the outside and dry on the inside and had a very small portion size (see photo). Additionally, the rice was stale and tasted like day old rice. The kids fish and chips was good!
We also ordered the party platter which consisted of tortilla chips and spinach dip, calamari (that was dry), gyoza dumplings (which were great), and wings (which looked like some feathers were still on)
The food may have been better while it was warm but a lot of the food was cold in the 5 min drive home.
For a total of approximately $160, we will likely not be ordering the food again.
What happened to this place? I used to go before it reopened under new management; it went downhill. There was hardly anyone in there (Friday night). Two of our requests on the kids menu were not available. We ended up getting chicken tenders which were overcooked. The nachos had hardly any
cheese and no salsa was offered. When we asked why, they said head office mandated no salsa. What? Also, weird that lettuce was on the nachos! I miss the old atmosphere, the servers dressed in kilts.
Unfortunately, we won’t be back.

Walked 1.5 km to get there at 8:45. Their site says open until 11. Nope. 1.5 km back. Now, a 3km walk might be good for me, it was a complete waste of time. Don't believe their website.

I was very disappointed. While the atmosphere and location were fine, the service left a lot to be desired. At one point, our waiter returned to the table smelling strongly of weed. This was honestly incredibly unprofessional and completely inappropriate. We were kinda put off by it, you could at least wait until you close to smoke. Also for an Irish pub, you could at least play some Irish music.

I ordered fish and chips. The fries were so salty you couldn’t eat them. I see you have had comments about the fries being salty before. And you haven’t managed to resolve the issue.
Went tonight , enjoyed our meal and service was spot on . Very accommodating on our request for changes on the items that we order . Kylie was a delight and thank you for the glasses , !
