I am a former employee of Heart Sushi. During my time there, I experienced ongoing workplace bullying and was repeatedly targeted by management, which ultimately led to my resignation. Despite this, the manager attempted to frame my departure as a termination.
More concerningly, I was recently informed by a friend who dined at the restaurant that my name is still being used by staff—allegedly to deflect blame and redirect criticism for current service issues. If true, this is not only unethical but potentially illegal. Also non of them were honest. If any staff member is still using the name KELLY, please know that they are not referring to me.
This kind of behavior reflects a lack of accountability and integrity. I encourage others to be mindful of the type of staff culture operating here and to consider other dining options.

I have been going their with my family regularly (on average once a month) staff are normally great and if they ever miss the mark they sure know how to always make it better. Top notch in my humble opinion.

I never write reviews, but this has to be the one exception. First of all, after getting to the location, it took me 20 minutes to get my water. The staff were very rude and dismissive, and would basically throw the water and food at me. I'm never coming here again, worst sushi place in Canada.

Excellent sushi and service. The restaurant is a bit of a disaster. Seems they are always building something.

As an observer present in the restaurant on several occasions, I have noticed repeated instances of unprofessional behavior by management toward staff. These actions not only affect the work atmosphere but also directly influence the customer dining experience and overall perception of the restaurant.
I have personally witnessed situations where a manager:
1. Used harsh, even aggressive language toward staff in public areas, clearly audible to customers.
2. Twisted facts and placed blame on staff members without regard for the actual circumstances.
3. Adopted an intimidating tone and body language, causing visible discomfort and distress to the targeted employee.
Such an environment undermines staff morale and creates discomfort for customers who witness these interactions. In the restaurant industry, the key to success lies in excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. When employees are not treated with respect and facts are disregarded, customers inevitably sense the tension, making it difficult for them to enjoy their experience or remain loyal to the business.
I recommend that the restaurant investigate this matter and take appropriate steps to improve management practices. Creating a respectful and professional workplace will benefit both staff and customers, and help preserve the restaurant’s reputation. It is essential to place capable individuals in leadership positions — those lacking the ability to lead should not be placed in management roles. Everyone should read this if you want to enjoy your meals.

If I could, I’d give this place zero stars. Based on what I’ve personally heard and experienced, the work environment is shockingly toxic. The management staff (name starts with J) routinely shows blatant disrespect toward employees, even going so far as to belittle them in front of others. This isn’t just unprofessional, it creates a hostile atmosphere that’s impossible to ignore. When leadership lets that kind of behaviour slide, it sends the message that bullying is acceptable. It is not.
A business is only as strong as the people who run it day-to-day. When staff feel undervalued, disrespected, and unsupported, it shows. No amount of marketing can hide the fact that unhappy workers can’t provide great service. If management truly cares about their reputation, they need to clean house and build a respectful, healthy workplace from the ground up. Until then, don’t expect customers to keep coming back.

Few weeks ago, I had visited Heart Sushi with my family. We personally witnessed an older man (who appeared to be the manager) speaking to the staff in an extremely rude, aggressive, and even humiliating manner. It was shocking and frankly disgusting for me and my family to watch. His behavior showed a complete lack of professionalism and lack of education. He was arrogant, domineering, and seemed to be abusing his authority.
This kind of toxic, bullying behavior has no place in any workplace. It completely destroys the customer experience. Someone like this should not be in any position of management, let alone interacting with customers or leading a team.
If this is how the business is run, with no accountability or respect, I will absolutely not return—and I would strongly advise others to stay away as well.

Great experience
Restaurantji Recommends
I have order through Uber eats the black snow roll and IT DID NOT MATCH THE PICTURE AT ALL, it was 90% crisp crumbs very very little amount of salmon and avocado and what’s frustrating is that you can’t even get a refund from uber, anyways I will be showing what I got versus what it shows
We just enjoyed all you can eat sushi last night with 14 of our friends. The restaurant was spotless. They had no trouble fitting us all in. So many things to choose from. You order per item off a tablet and within minutes the little dishes are sitting on your table. We enjoyed menu items like hot and sour soup, beef on a squewer, lemon chicken, California rolls, too much to list. My favourite was the deep friend bananas. Heaven in your mouth. Even the price is reasonable at 39.99 per person. Highly recommend this place for a delicious dining experience. Almost forgot a very fun cat figure robot will bring dishes to your table and help you sing happy birthday if you are celebrating too!
The manager knows everyone- it makes dining fun
I like Japanese size servings rather than oversized American portions
I was absolutely disgusted the last time I was there and will never go back. Mirrors on the ceiling can show a lot. The two gentlemen behind the counter where the food is put together. One guy pulled up his shirt and leaned/laid over the counter while the other scratched his back. I was horrified and disgusted. I tried to tell the manager who claimed did not really speak English. Everyone at the table could not believe what they were seeing.
