Breath taking experience. My friends and I went for a chill night out at Jack’s on May 10. We were sitting and having drinks when, out of nowhere, I suddenly couldn’t breathe. I have asthma and my throat closed immediately. My boyfriend tried to rush me out of the building but I started puking from the exposure. I ran to the bathroom which were filled with girls crying, puking, and trying to rinse their eyes and skin.
The staff completely disappeared during the whole incident. The bouncers had left the inside and were just standing at the door. No one evacuated the space or checked if anyone needed help.
While walking down the stairs to leave as I was disoriented and trying to breathe, one of the bouncers snatched my beer and said, “This isn’t Vegas.” I told him I have asthma and that I couldn’t breathe from the mace.
His response? “Didn’t happen inside the building so it’s not our responsibility.” He claimed that the pepper spray had “blown in from outside” 😂 People outside were saying it happened inside. You don’t get mass exposure like that from it wafting in.
For the record, Jack’s has a legal obligation under the Occupiers’ Liability Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.2, to ensure the safety of everyone on their property. That includes responding to emergencies and hazardous incidents, especially in a packed, enclosed space.
Their complete lack of response also violates public health standards under the Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS) and the Health Protection and Promotion Act. Pepper spray in an indoor venue is a serious health risk, especially for people with respiratory conditions.
I’ve heard many stories that this isn’t the first time the bouncers here have been unprofessional, but it should be the last time they’re allowed to leave customers to fend for themselves during a health emergency. I will be filing formal complaints and encourage anyone else who was affected to do the same.

0 stars if possible. Horrible food. Horrible bar tender with crappy attitude. Wouldnt waste my time going there. Literally any other bar or restaurant in town is better than this.

I don’t write a lot of reviews but I had to here. I was in Jacks recently and the bar tender, Hannah Christine, was the best bartender ever!!! So friendly! Remembered our drinks after our first round, just one of those servers that enhances your experience you know? I hope management knows they have a gem and promotes her or gives her a raise or something. Food is decent and it’s reasonably priced with a fun atmosphere but for me it’s all about the service

Got stuck at the front of the line for like 20 minutes on the Saturday of St. Patricks day weekend, the Asian bouncers as they called themselves took no bs and even turned down $300 from stupid drunk guys trying to cut the line. Very nice guys when they aren't being harassed by customers, give em a raise!

was here for st paddy’s with friends, we paid $10 each person (6 people total, we paid with 3 $20 so 3 individual people each paid for themselves and another) the bouncer named Alex (not his first time stealing and definitely won’t be his last till he’s let go, and looking at the multiple reviews about people being stolen from owners should really take a second to look into their staff) took all $60 and then proceeded to deny 3 of us entry because we “didn’t pay”, and then threatened to call in on us for “aggressive behaviour” when we explained that we each paid for two people. lost money, time waiting in the line, and our nights experience. thanks you jacks once again for your poor bouncer service. they’re meant to protect/prevent who goes inside the bar, not steal from your customers. messed up!!!

Been here many times for years tn I went in pretty drunk handed a 50$ bill for 5$ cover the girl grabbed 2 20s then 3 5$ bills, I was confused. But I could tell she new I was drunk and she took away a 20 and handed me 35$ honestly I should have called her out infront of everyone. It was sad because I new it was intentionally but that's ok I won't be back anymore, shady whoever was working at the front door tn, and yes I new what you did <3 it was around 12am

Fan of jacks, but night experience is ruined by bouncer. avoid bouncer with man bun. denied my OF AGE friend at the front door even though every piece of ID was provided. watched him let in a group of people who were reciting their fake ID’s behind us.
