Honest review!

I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. I have been trying some
Gluten free bakeries close to me. I have been dying to try out Joanie’s. I have been holding off as it’s a bit of a drive for me. Well today I took the drive out there and tried a bunch of things. Here are my honest review about the items I bought.

1. Butter tart - truly amazing! 10/10
2. Banana chocolate chip muffin- it was good. I would give it a solid 7/10. Was a little mushy for my liking but I would definitely try it again.
3. Carrot cake - my absolute fave!! 1000000/10. This will be something that I am willing to drive across the city for alone.
4. Honey crueller - my daughter’s fave, I thought it was okay. I feel like it would be amazing fresh but still a solid 7/10
5. Eclair -8/10- I’m not a huge chocolate fan so hard for me to judge, but the whipped cream center was amazing!
6. Vanilla cupcake- I know where I’m getting my birthday cake from. Was sooo good! Even my non celiac child liked it! 10/10
7. Cherry danish (I think? Can’t remember ) this was the only thing that was a flop for me. Now I did come at the end of the day so maybe it has been sitting all day but like 1/10 for me. I am willing to try that again and give another review if I think it’s better but I did not like that.

With all that being said, out of the other places I have been in London that are gluten free, this is the ONLY one I will revisit! I would still eat all of it again and it by far has the best gluten free goodies I have tried! Price also seemed good. Everything I bought was in singles out of the front display. I did buy two other things that were packaged which I haven’t tried and don’t think that they are Joanie’s items. But it was about 50$

My heart is happy that me and my daughter can have some amazing gluten free goodies that taste as good as non gluten free items!!

I will say that the staff were very quiet and I am a talker so I would have liked to have had someone greet me, ask if I had been there before, kind of helped me navigate but that’s a personal thing.

Overall I’m happy. My daughter is happy. I will be back ❤️

Delicious gluten free desserts and more! All great options from tarts, cookies, Nanaimo bars, cakes, brownies! Some baked goods are additionally dairy free on top of being gluten free and delicious. The store also offers other specialty gluten free meal items. Customer service is exceptional.

I've tried the butter tarts and they are soooo good. They brought me memories when I used to eat traditional puffy pastry. Delicious!

prices are higher but that's to be expected but the selection was great.

Great shop with a wide selection of both in-house made items and items from other vendors. The cookies are great and we love that they bring in items from Annie’s in Stratford.

The place is a little pricy, but that tends to be the case with most allergen/dietary restricted foods.

Today Joan went out of her way to locate a supplier of a gluten free item I was looking for. She called me in person , then contacted the other supplier to make arrangements, then called again to advise! Her customer service was just awesome!

Closed for the “holidays” all week. for groundhogs day? never seen a business close that long for such an insignificant reason. drove 20 minutes out here because google says they’re open when they are not.

Small little shop for gluten free foods. The customer service is always good here, and the bakery items are great. Little pricey but worth it to support local

I bought a date Square was a corner piece the crust on the outside of it was so hard I couldn't eat it the worst $5 ever spent I guess 480 I don't mind spending money if it tastes good

Joanie is sooooo sweet. The pastries were phenomenal. The best tarts ever.
