Brought my wife and daughter here this morning for my daughter’s birthday breakfast. Had high hopes based on the reviews here. The server was pleasant but not over friendly. Had to be asked for high chair and colouring for our daughter. It was not offered upon our arrival. Other than that she was attentive and asked if we were good. The atmosphere is generally an older crowd and didn’t really seem toddler friendly. The food, cause this is really why you go to a restaurant right?I had Johnny breakfast- was very bland. It wasn’t bad, but it was quite literally scrambled eggs. No pepper or seasoning. Ham was a slice of fried sandwich meat. Sausages were generic frozen sausages with no real flavour, though the most flavourful part of the whole meal. Bacon, well it’s bacon hard to mess up, however slices are small and thin. Homefries were cut just how I like and hot! However again no seasoning very bland.Daughter had bacon and an egg. She’s loves bacon but only ate 1.5 slices. And loves eggs, but didn’t touch them after trying a bite. Likely cause eggs we make at home have flavour (pepper, parm, cream).Wife had Eggs Benedict. She said it was nice and hot. Sauce was great consistency but overall lacked flavour likely due to no seasoning. She felt the same as myself with homefries and bacon. Sausages were ok. She did ask to sub sausages for homefries and was simply told no even though we were willing to pay for the difference. We had apple and orange juice to drink. Quite pricy for a glass of juice. Orange juice had pulp. Not sure if pulp free was an option as it was never mentioned by server. I forgot to ask assuming it would be pulp free unless stated otherwise.Overall not a terrible place. Food was nice and hot just lacked any flavour. Server needed prompted for everything. Atmosphere felt unwelcoming with a toddler (mainly due to server and tables around us). Our child is very quiet and well behaved also.Kid-friendliness: Wasn’t the best vibe we’ve had at a breakfast spot. Been to others where the wait staff goes above and beyond to make sure the child is content.

Food was ok, however got a hair in my food and had it returned. I was surprised I had to pay for it because of the hair. Wouldn’t eat here again.

Sadly this is yet another example of a restaurant that takes breakfast cooking for granted: ordered 2 eggs with home fries and toast ($9.95) and 3 sausages($4.25??) and my grandson ordered TWO choc chip pancakes for $14.49!!!! (10-12 choc chips tossed into the center of the pancakes) Shocking!Eggs (small) were dreadfully undercooked and home fries were simply sliced potatoes which were deep-fried from raw. I would never have ordered it if I knew that. Toast was undercooked and buttered hastily in the Center only. This was a $15.00 breakfast. A well-prepared breakfast can be an amazing meal but this wasn’t even close and way too much money for what we received. I only feel really poorly for those folks who think this is good food.

Basic breakfast diner food selection but friendly staff and a weekend favorite for many local regulars.
