My husband and I have been coming here for quite some time now. We come sometimes on Saturday AND Sunday because we love it so much. The drinks are always delicious and the baked goods are beyond amazing ! The breakfast items are also really good especially the breakfast burrito! Our absolute favourite baked goods are the tahini brownie and the pistachio orange cookie. The service is always excellent and everyone is always so friendly when we come in. We love coming here as our little treat on the weekends and cannot recommend it enough !

Wish I lived closer to this wonderful neighbourhood cafe. I try to go a little out of my way to swing by because it's worth the visit.

Lots of cafes tend to under extract their espresso drinks, but not here. Great espresso, and solid pourover.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Staff who actually make an effort to engage and be pleasant even if you have the social skills of a stale pool noodle. It is slightly more expensive than some comparable places but you forget about that quickly with the quality in every facet of this little London gem. I had a tuna melt and it was great. My friend had some avacodo toast with a special jam and bacon and it looked and smelled like I need to eat it as well. You know a place is good when you make a silent pledge to come back and eat something you restrained yourself from buying because your noodly social skill told you it might be inappropriate to eat the whole menu at your lunch meeting... Yes it's kid friendly (again, you'll be your kids focus here which is far better than dropping them off in a ball pit or setting up a screen so they only develop a couple noodly social skills by the time they are all grown up). Make life better and have a meal here.Vegetarian options: I heard them list vegetarian options when talking to customers next to me. I'm sure they are great options. I love vegetarian food. I also like eating sentient critters like chicken, tuna and fast moving potatoes.Dietary restrictions: I heard the staff mention some foods for those with dietary restrictions as well. This is very thoughtful of them. I had dietary restrictions once and it was kind of rough to not having the variety of spud I was used to no matter which velocity it was travelling at, I even had to limit my intake of timid barnyard creatures to half it's normal list. It's nice to know places like this who make it a point to offer alternatives to people in such horrible predicaments, those people are sad enough over how many more emotionally secure swine exist to deal with not being able to eat bacon on top of it.Parking: Yes there's parking and street parking. Your intuition is correct, parking is not relevant here. Find a way to walk in in a convenient way. Theres plenty of options. Judge this place on the experience, the staff and the product and you'll be a happy well rounded seeker of experiences to be present in, instead of a soggy foam pool accessory prone to fits of sadness and existential listlessness.Kid-friendliness: Spend time with your kid. Inhabit their stories along side them, with eye contact and some good food, at this.place, this week even! Memories can be made here. This place is a great place for one on one interactions. You can ring lots of friends but if you bring just one person, especially 1 kid (I have 5 and would take them here one at a time); the more intimate atmosphere will end itself to a more engaging and memorable experience. This puts more pressure on the parent to pay attention and be present. This is good. All of this adds up; parents who bring their kids to Locomotive will have better relationships with their kids and their kids likely won't turn out to be outrage monkies with all the personality of a used and discarded third hand deck chair.

Wandered in on a busy Sunday afternoon for a change from our usual coffee spot. Loved the atmosphere, it was busy but we were able to snag a table relatively fast.

Today (Sun. Feb. 25. 2024) marked our first and final visit to this coffee shop. Our hopes for a delightful pastry indulgence at 2 PM were dashed when we found their selection depleted, save for one lonely pastry. The cashier’s response to our inquiry about the pastries was dishearteningly sarcastic, setting a less-than-welcoming tone for our inaugural experience.Opting to try their guac toast after seeing another patron enjoy it, we were taken aback by the 10-minute wait time for a seemingly simple dish. Expressing our surprise only garnered more sarcasm and a dismissive remark about the usual tardiness of their food preparation process. It’s disheartening when even a straightforward request for a menu item feels like an inconvenience.A quick glance at other reviews confirms that our encounter was not an isolated incident but rather a recurring theme. It’s a shame that such lackluster service appears to be the norm here. Needless to say, we won’t be returning. For those in search of exceptional coffee and service, we recommend looking elsewhere. As for management, perhaps addressing customer concerns with genuine care rather than dismissive responses would be a more effective approach.

Had a productive business meeting at Locomotive Cafe and couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere. The ambiance is cozy yet professional, perfect for discussions and brainstorming sessions. The coffee was excellent, and the food was delicious, providing the ideal fuel for our discussions. We're already planning our next meeting here. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great spot to get work done or simply enjoy a relaxing meal. We'll definitely be returning!
