The negative reviews are clearly people
who do not understand that this THE ARK Coffee House is a lifeline. This place deserves credit for providing a safe place for less fortunate and vulnerable society to go and be accepted regardless of the stigma of ‘homeless’ ‘addict’ and my fav ‘ those people’. Some are troubled and Yes there is most likely some Unwarranted negative interactions that can happen outside the building. But why highlight the bad moments about a place that is doing its best to help a community in crisis. The staff are amazing and so are many of the clientele who rely on the Coffee Shop for basic human needs. How about help and volunteer and spend time understanding instead of shaming. For the record it’s fantastic coffee and the muffins and cookies are 10/10. Please support and be part of the solution instead of making something that feels impossible on a good day, seem worse. #seetheunseen No kid grows up hoping to be destitute or dreams of living with mental health issues or losing everything to addiction. People need people and clearly they need you to buy coffee and maybe even hang out and play a game of checkers. Or have a conversation and understand, who knows maybe you might meet the next brilliant mind or breathtaking artist that just needs to be truly accepted and seen. If you hate it that much … move 🤷🏻♀️ #glasshalffull

Blight on the neighbourhood. When helping the unappreciative drug addicts is somehow more important than keeping a community safe and healthy you come up with this "servicr" and disguise it as a "coffee house"

This place has ruined my end of redan st. The folks that go here for help have no regard for the surrounding neighbors. They hang directly beside my house in the city alley way. The alleyway is one big mess all the time. We can't even open our window facing the alleyway because of people fighting and arguing or dogs barking.and thank you tou the city of London for doing noting at all.
It is absolutely great that this organization has made this place available for the winter as a place where one can spend the whole night until the morning. Plus besides just having wonderful comforting heat, there is a number of staff individuals who give out nourishment such as drinks and snacks . Then to top it off there is WI-FI and a large screen T. V. Please for the well to-doers don't mistake this as a bananza. Everything I've mentioned is at a very bare amount of drinks and snacks.DRINKS = 1 coffee , 1hot chocolate or tea/ individual all night.SNACKS = 1 PB&J , 1 cookie and sometimes a 1/4 filled bowl of soup or rice dish.Something only a homeless individual could appreciate. So cool down your imagination.

Not actually a traditional coffee house. This is an entry point to services at the Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley and Ark Aid.

Whereas I applaud the program, this place brings out the worst at night. I’ve witnessed junkies shooting up, leaving needles and feces behind when the doors are closed. Tent cities erect within seconds. One tent city lasted 2 1/2 weeks before staff did Anything about it.I’ve witnessed Countless fist fights and the staff refuse to stop, intervene, or resolve the situation, rather allow a person to get beaten.I’ve tried contacting someone about the increasing concern at night and I was brushed under the rug. If this behaviour is not ok for their neighbourhood, what makes them think it’s ok to be in mine?I’m seriously getting tired of waking up frightened when one of these junkies decide to make themselves at home on my porch in the middle of the night.
