on our recent visit to Lord Gainsborough we had the Bacon cheese Burger combo, fish and chips and Deluxe pizza. The pizza was loaded with fresh toppings and cheese. Homemade fish was delicious lightly battered with fresh cut fries . Burger was homemade old school with egg and bread crumbs. Prices are reasonable as compared to competitors. portions are huge. Friendly staff and clean restaurant. Food is worth waiting for.

I'm assuming that these are new owners as I have been here previously and food was good especially the fries, burgers and gravy. Rarely had to wait for our food to arrive especially when going for lunch during working hours. Yesterday evening a friend and I arrived and the restaurant wasn't busy. We waited nearly an hour for our food. My friend received one refill on her coffee, we had to ask for refills when our food finally arrived. We actually got up to leave when the one and only server ran over to say our food was up in a minute. The phone was ringing like crazy and it appeared that takeout orders were a higher priority. While the server did apologize for the delay, there wasn't even an offer to take off our coffee or tea. Not to mention if you know your kitchen is delayed, let your patrons know and apologize, make an offer of something free, prior to them becoming frustrated and leave. Most likely won't be returning for a long time, but hoping the owners fix their issues.

Took over an hr to get our order. Food was over cooked. We're more worried about takeout orders than the in house service over all not impressed.. all I ve ever heard is good things about this place but will never go back horrible experience we were putting our coats on to leave and our orders were all of a sudden ready. Never again

Burgers have a strange spice in them that make them very unpleasant to eat. Bun was soggy. No one finished their burger!Poutine was cold.I called to place order and was quoted different prices.Definitely NOT worth the price!!

The fish had been fried too long. This is not healthy more batter then fish. Fries were like match sticks. I see that you’re unable to give 10 percent of your earnings. Focus more on healthy food options.

Bad food, bad customer service.The reviews are awesome so I'm hoping it was a one-off... but I imagine the star rating is largely based on old, good reviews from when they rocked.The people we went with used to go to the other location but hadn't had the chance since they moved. So, they were really to excited to take us there... then, really embarrassed that they had; They questioned that it may be under new management as none of the staff they knew were there and the quality was worse than before. The food was reasonably priced compared to competitors, but way overpriced for the quality value.The server didn't come check on us other than right at the start; no refills, no checking to see if we needed anything. We waited about 20 minutes, hoping to get a dessert menu to turn things around... but in the end, we just flagged her down and asked to leave.I think they need to seriously reconsider the menu and perhaps get more staff working on a Sunday if that was the server's issue.The decor and atmosphere is decent and what one would expect from a small restaurant; the washroom sink was very nice.Update: What do you mean, a refill of what? Our drinks were empty. I have worked in the industry for years and it is absolutely standard practice to ensure that drinks are refilled, cost or free. I had no idea the desserts were on the wall; perhaps if your server had come to check on our needs they could have a) shown us where and b) could have taken the order. Instead, our time was wasted and we never got to order dessert because too much time had passed.You don't ever start a conversation with "sorry, but" and expect someone to waste more of their time explaining, especially when what was important (ie what we ordered) was already listed in the first place.. Poor customer service, all around, it seems.
