We have ordered our before and really enjoyed our fish and chips. Our last takeout was a huge disappointment. The fish was over cooked and the fries were tough. The coleslaw was the only part of the meal that was enjoyable, the rest was left.

This is probably my favorite sushi place in the London area. The service and food are fantastic. I only order vegetarian sushi, so I can't comment on the quality of the fish, but the vegetarian ingredients are fresh and tasty. My favorites are the yam avocado roll and inari sushi. I haven't found a lot of sushi places in London that actually do the stuffed inari. I highly recommend it!

Being from Vancouver my wife and I are sushi snobs. We are very picky and have tried plenty of sushi places since moving to Ontario and it is all pretty terrible. 168 sushi was decent in Oakville (have not tried London location), and outside of expensive Toronto restaurants I WOULD TAKE MAKIRA SUSHI OVER THEM EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK! I ordered for pickup on my wife's birthday for our first try. I was 10 minutes away when I ordered and when I got there it was already packed up and ready to roll out the door, very fast considering it was a tray and added pieces of nigiri equalling over 60 pieces of sushi. The sushi was FANTASTIC! My wife loves spicy salmon rolls, cones and salmon sashimi/nigiri. I love salmon and avocado rolls, tuna rolls and tuna sashimi/nigiri. Party tray A had everything we love plus some other delicious little ditty's. Makira also uses red tuna, not the white tuna (white tuna is 1/10 compared to red tuna for sushi) When it comes to a California roll, they aren't lazy with the filling. They properly grind and mix the imitation crab meat with the dressing and veg and roll it properly, not just throw a small stick of imitation crab meat leg in the middle with some cucumber and roll it with mayonnaise. If you are a new sushi adventurer you cannot go wrong with the party tray A. Make sure to mix wasabi with your soya and lightly dip every piece of sushi you eat. You'll be a sushi guru soon enough (once you become a master with the chop sticks) Prices are very fair and portions are top notch. We go twice a month now. We drive 45 minutes one way to eat here that's how much we have enjoyed this little establishment. Thank you so much Makira! You are our Ontario go to for SUSHI

I loved the sushi here. The dragon roll and the torched salmon roll were amazing. The service was excellent. The server gave great recommendations and was very attentive.I would totally return here again. Even the next day, the rolls in the air fryer tasted delicious which showed how fresh they were from the start. I can't wait to return for the torched salmon roll.

Continuing my sushi journey, I went all the way out to Lambeth. The spot is named Makira Sushi. As I walked in the door, I was taken aback by a marvelous aroma. Another neat feature of Makira are their black screens that divide the room. This gives privacy.I started my meal with two sets of special rolls: Crazy Cali and Joe’s. The Crazy Calis were deep-fried California rolls with cream cheese, spicy mayo, and unagi sauce. Joe’s sushi rolls had avocado and salmon in the center, but an extra avocado layer wrapped around the rice.Round two consisted of Red Dragon. These were torched dynamite rolls that came with salmon, spicy mayo, and hot sauce. My server was great. She was extra sweet and brought a smile to my face.Makira Sushi serves conventional sushi but also original special rolls, which are only found here. Some examples are Joe’s, Crazy Cali, Crazy Veggie, Pink Tiger, Green Mountain, and Wharncliffe. Makira suits sushi fanatics and especially sushi lovers looking for something different.
