My husband surprised me with dinner at Michael's on the Thames for my birthday. Our first and sadly our last (new owners and new set up apparently). We had table service Ceasar Salad made by Todd. So good, and we won't have that same experience again. Also had the table service tenderloin - AMAZING! Then our server Abby surprised us with a congratulatory dessert. We are so happy that we had this experience and so sad that we waited so long to attend. Thank you!

Pros:- Food- Atmosphere- Music- Coat checkCons- Food- Wait Staff- ParkingWent here for a Christmas party with friends. From the hype I've heard about Michael's, I have to say I was underwhelmed by my first experience. When we arrived, it was difficult to find parking, our party all arrived on time/early for our reservation and had to wait in the very small bar area while our table was cleaned and prepared, we weren't seated until 10 mins after our reserved time. Our wait staff (primary server and secondary for tableside service) were friendly, but not as professional as I was expecting for the establishment, the secondary server made snarky jokes all evening and at one point was very rude to my fiancee and talked down to her. Our primary server was much better, but again, you can find more professionalism at the keg or milestones. The food was hit or miss, my entree was delicious, but multiple people at our table got the Caesar salad that Micheal's is famous for, and while it was cool to see it prepared tableside, it was an unevenly coated garlic overload. We did not get dessert so I can't comment on that. Our entrees took an exceptionally long time to arrive, over an hour at minimum. The starting biscuits were good, but nothing special.I was impressed by the ambiance of the restaurant, the live band was a nice touch, and the overall interior was elegant.

Underwhelming experience. The kitchen forgot to put beets in my beet salad, and left a bay leaf in my french onion soup. Our server took away both my forks before the main was served, and I had to ask another server for one. When our server brought the bill, she noticed a mistake and came back with another bill adding $24 for putting a cake down on the table that we brought to the restaurant (no, she didn't cut it).Overall, very poor service, meh atmosphere, and the food is just okay. Won't be returning or recommending to anyone.

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary! It was incredible to say the least. Him and I got cocktails - the Golden Cadillac and the French 75 - both were delicious. They really outdo themselves! The food was also amazing, flavourful and the portions were great. We were both left beyond satisfied and we will definitely be going again :)Special thanks to Abby, who made our evening special - you provided us with excellent service and hope to see you again!

Excellent service. Beautiful atmosphere with a piano player. Amazing food and a pretty extensive wine/drink menu. Portions were bigger than expected! They also make the salads and some entrees table side. Highly recommend!

Over 30 years ago, when we lived in London, we frequently ate at Michael's on the Thames with friends and family. Fast forward 33 years of marriage, and returning back to Bayfield, after spending 25 years in Whistler, we finally had the chance to revisit Michael's. I do not know what took us so very long to return!! My Mom and I had a wonderful evening on a "girls night out"". Everything from the service, to the atmosphere, and of course the food , was excellent!! We had such a fabulous experience, we booked a Saturday jazz night in two weeks time with my Mom and husband. We would highly recommend Michael's on the Thames. There's a reason why they have been around for 39 years!
