I was excited to visit this place for the first time, as my housemate has been visiting this place for a while. However, the experience was deeply disappointing. The person who appeared to be the owner seemed uninterested and off-putting while taking our order.

We also learned—after our food was already served—that they only accept debit and cash, which was frustrating as we only had credit card available. While my housemate remembered this policy afterward, we were still caught off guard. When we politely asked if there was an option to transfer money, the response we received was unexpectedly blunt. Rather than offering a solution, the owner dismissed us with a rude remark, questioning why we didn’t carry physical cards.

We struggled to figure out a solution, even trying to contact friends for help. The total was only $22.60, yet the way she insulted us and made us feel worthless was completely unnecessary. What made it even worse was that my housemate had been a loyal customer, visiting time and again. However, the owner chose to be rude instead of showing any understanding.

Despite the food being tasty, the portion sizes were small, and the customer service left a lasting negative impression. No one should be treated this way over something so minor. Needless to say, we will never be returning.

Had a great lunch today. Lamb curry was quite spicy but good as always.

Had a wonderful meal at New Delhi Deli in downtown London’s Covent Garden Market! The food had such a homely, comforting taste—it truly felt like a meal made with love. I ordered the curry chicken with yellow rice and salsa, and the portion was huge—it easily filled me up and then some! The flavors were rich and authentic, and the customer service was warm and welcoming. Definitely a hidden gem for anyone craving delicious Indian-Caribbean comfort food.

Be prepared to be served by a very RUDE old lady. 100% I won't recommend this place to anyone I know. 👎

The was excited to try, but was disappointed. After one bite I threw out the samosa, it was very dry, and I could tell it was either overcooked or old :( the woman working the register needs customer service training. She was not very friendly and seemed short tempered. This was my first time here, and I'm sad to say I will not return.

Food has good taste that is common..but poor customer service.
Did not feel welcome after i explained it was my first time so i was wanting to understand the menus options more but was given little explanation or no explanation.. kind of a let down since this place was recommended from “Dine in 519” online.

Hands down the most flavourful and tasty food I have ever had. Eat at the bar if you can, the Owner is so sweet. She is truly an amazing cook, you can tell she does it with love. I miss stopping by this place as I am not a frequent visitor of the downtown area but if you love Indian I definitely recommend this place to you.

The Service that I received at this place was really bad. The older lady who is associated with the cashier is really very rude and that made me not to return to this stall again. The food was okay but not worth for the price. The lady’s attitude towards customers is nasty.

We were driving from Sarnia to Toronto last weekend and stopped in London for lunch. I'm familiar with Covent Garden Market from past visits to the city but I never visited this restaurant before.

The food was incredibly delicious and at a really reasonable price point. I had duck curry, curried vegetables, and rice pilaf. It was all excellent, but the duck curry stood out as exceptional.

The owner is also very friendly and welcoming, making our experience all the more pleasant. It's probably not a coincidence that one of her regulars was also really friendly, and even offered us a taste of his homemade hot sauce (he calls it "Ex Wife" ?)

This is a real gem in London - based on the foot traffic it's already well-known to locals, so I encourage visitors to come try them as well! You won't regret it.

The owner is so friendly and kind. We had the lamb curry and it had great flavour, could use a small pinch of salt. The highlight was the salsa which was fresh and spicy. The letdown was the mango lassi, which was not cold and too thick and much too sweet. Would return to try the jerk chicken and mollagatawny. Nothing beats the friendly service though!!!

- A Disappointing Experience at Covent Garden Market Canadat: A Nasty Encounter Ruined Our Day - Covent Garden Market in London, Ontario, has long been touted as a cultural and commercial hub, a place where locals and tourists alike can enjoy a vibrant marketplace filled with diverse vendors and community events. Unfortunately, my recent visit on June 9, 2024, for the London Multicultural Festival was anything but delightful. Instead, it turned into a disheartening experience marred by hostile behavior, poor management, and a blatant disregard for customer service. This review aims to shed light on the numerous issues we faced, and why I will never return to Covent Garden Market. -The Multicultural Festival: A Promising Start - The day began with high hopes. Along with two other senior citizens, I ventured downtown to partake in the 2024 London Multicultural Festival. Held outdoors on Rotary Square, Talbot Street, and Jubilee Square, the event promised a vibrant display of cultural diversity, food, music, and community spirit. For a while, it was exactly that – an enjoyable afternoon filled with lively performances and delicious food. - A Sudden Downpour - At around 3:45 PM, the weather took an unexpected turn. Heavy rain and strong winds abruptly disrupted the festivities. Seeking shelter, we decided to head inside the Covent Garden Market building, assuming it would be a safe haven from the storm. - Unwelcoming Reception - Upon entering the market, we were greeted not with warmth and understanding, but with hostility. A man I recognized from Doris Family Produce accosted us in a loud and aggressive manner. He demanded that we leave the building and re-enter through another door, despite the inclement weather outside. His tone was unnecessarily harsh, and his behavior entirely inappropriate given the circumstances. We were already inside and simply sought refuge from the storm – a basic expectation for any public market claiming to serve its community. -Disregarding the Order- Given the intensity of the rain and wind, we decided to disregard his unreasonable order. This decision was met with what can only be described as a childish hissy-fit. Instead of offering assistance or understanding, this individual chose to escalate the situation, further dampening our spirits and adding to our discomfort. - A Moment of Respite: Coffee at Piping Kettle - Determined to salvage some enjoyment from our visit, we proceeded to grab a coffee and sat down by the Piping Kettle food stall. For a brief moment, we managed to relax and enjoy our drinks, attempting to shake off the earlier unpleasant encounter. Little did we know, our troubles were far from over. - An Abrupt Closure Announcement - Just before 4:00 PM, an announcement blared over the loudspeaker system, informing everyone that the market would be closing at 4:00 PM sharp and that all patrons needed to leave immediately. This sudden closure was surprising and inconvenient, particularly given the ongoing festival and the severe weather conditions outside. - Forced Out into the Rain - As the clock struck 4:00 PM, a security officer approached us and, in no uncertain terms, instructed us to leave the building. Despite the torrential downpour outside, there was no offer of assistance, no suggestion of an alternative shelter, and no empathy shown. We were effectively evicted from the market and forced to venture back out into the storm, drenched and disheartened. - An Unsafe Environment - Adding insult to injury, our departure from the market was marred by further unpleasant encounters. The area around Covent Garden Market has become a haven for drug-using individuals and aggressive panhandlers. Navigating through this unsafe environment, especially in such poor weather, was both frightening and disheartening. What should have been a joyful day celebrating cultural diversity turned into an ordeal of navigating hazards and hostility. - The New Normal for Downtown London? - This experience at Covent Garden Market left a bitter taste in our mouths and raised serious concerns
