Ordered some bread loaves and cinnamon rolls. Bread was actually very good - shame the cinnamon rolls were a completely different story. They were stale, dry, and hard as rocks - definitely not cooked that same day. I'd say they were at least several days old. Absolutely disgusting. Ordered through Uber so I know it was on purpose, because therefore of course I had no way of returning them. My son and I were very disappointed. Don't appreciate being charged money for something and then used as a dumpster for old, unwanted product.
Maybe buy bread from here, because yes that was good, but skip the pastries.

Ordered 24 tarts and one of the sandwiches yesterday. Was watching them make my sandwich and noticed one of the staff making food is wearing gloves, while the other one is not. The staff not wearing gloves is preparing a salad with her bare hands, grabbing tomatoes with her hands and opening fridge and swing door at the same time not washing hands in between and continues to prep the salad. I was relieved to see the person making my sandwich was wearing gloves coz I was pretty grossed out by it. But then the same person making my sandwich had to run outside to bring someone’s order to their car. Went outside without taking her gloves off, opening the swinging door and the main doors. She came back and prepares another sandwich with the same gloves!!! The amount of cross contamination is ridiculous.
I spoke to a staff about it and I hope she brought it up to her management.
I love this place but was really grossed out with how they handle customers food.

Wonderful bakery! The pasteis de natas are my favourite thing thus far. Their sandwiches and meat patties are also top notch. Looking forward to working my way through their offerings in the coming days.
EDIT (Nov.2nd, 2024): Changing my rating from 5/5 to 3/5. Today I got some almond croissants and to my dismay, the filling they used has been changed. It used to be a sort of almond paste (go figure, almond croissant, right?), but now it's been absolutely filled to the brim with some generic, neon yellow filling that tastes of pure sugar and a hint of chemicals. Hoping this is a temporary, misguided attempt to cut costs.

A little disappointed. The millefeille was not what I wanted. Didn't realize there were different ones. But the one I bought did not have enough chocolate in the centre. For the price of $4.00 could be better! I hope the rest of what I bought is better! Ate the almond tart and the pastry was so tough...totally disappointed with my purchases...☹️! I wont go back as this was the first time. Friendly staff though!
Best bakery in London! The staff are awesome and the pasteries are amaizng. If your Portuguese or enjoy Portuguese food, it is definitely worth the stop!

Been living out of town for awhile. So happy to be back in London and visit Nova Era on day 2. Soup of the day and cornmeal bun delicious. My server Vanessa was helpful and added to the welcome back experience that was topped off with a delicious custard tart baked to perfection. Your crust is amazing. Thanks Nova

First-time visitor... came here to try out coffee and mocha ending up purchasing some donuts and pastries because of the pretty display they have.
HONEST REVIEW: NOVA is a good bakery shop but definitely NOT a good coffee shop.
Pastries are great, but the coffee and mocha taste like sugar water. No hints of coffee and chocolate... I rather pay a dollar more for a Starbucks coffee than coming here.
Service was good, all staff seems friendly and welcoming. We had no issue with placing an order.

Recently was introduced to this place by my daughter. It looked quite obscure from the road but once I went inside, I was blown away with its quaintness and charm. The bakery area was impressive and the treats look( and taste) delicious. The food is prepared fresh and is very reasonably priced. The coffee served here, is my ultimate favorite. It's fresh and hot( piping hot!) and inexpensive. The Caesar Salad is splendid. The Sandwiches, which come on your choice of bread, are amazing and contain Real Meat not Premade slices. I give this place full stars, short of one point. The staff could do a better job of touching base with their eat in customers more (and not leave them waiting in case of wanting more coffee or additional food items).
