The reason I’ll never return:
1. The waiter made everything feel rushed, even when the place wasn’t busy, he had somewhere else to be.
2. They use children’s sparklers for birthday desserts or something, bad idea in a small place all I could smell was burnt plastic for awhile sitting a table or two away.
3. I took one bite of the dessert and didn’t like it or eat it, it was garbage. The kicker was the waiter, rather than offering simple apologies for not liking it, he just said it’s good, I’m the first person to say it wasn’t, and left the cake on the bill.
I paid and left, and in retrospect, this is why other restaurants continue to succeed while others fail over time. An experienced waiter should have ensured our next visit, when ours guaranteed we would never return over a cake slice that probably cost them $3-4 to make, assuming they did.

Overall the experience was good however this is the first restaurant where my party was asked to leave as they needed the table for the next reservation.

This fine dining restaurant we highly recommend! Service was excellent.!
Food was impeccable!
We started with the best made espresso martinis, followed by their delicious classic french onion soup. Wonderfully tasting broth, made au gratin topped with crunchy onion strips! Entrees of a delicious Scallop & shrimp scampi; filet mignon done to perfection; and the most tender & generous portion of Chicken Marsala all served with the best scalloped potatoes & sliced carrots & zucchini and wine with dinner We finished with 2 spanish coffees with added triple sec & a refreshing Moscow Mule. Amazing all around!
Owner personally stopped by asking about our experience. Love the personal touch! Would definitely return. ❤️
Now how do I add my pics? Lol

We had dinner there Friday night!!! It was delicious and the service was exceptional!! The salmon and mussels were cooked perfectly!! It was nice to see the manager out on the floor asking about her customer's evening and experience. Will definitely be back!!! Thank you 😁

Our first dining experience at One on York will not be our last!
Exceptional service from Michelle, with knowledgeable recommendations. Both the steak and short rib fell apart by looking at it. Great atmosphere. Can't wait to return!!

Amazing meal, loved everything and the service was incredible. Can’t find food or service like this in Toronto or much anywhere else these days so happy to see such a great restaurant in London! Will definitely try to make it back, have the mussels too, my boyfriend was literally drinking the sauce that’s how good they were!! I never leave reviews but 5 stars all around!

The chef at One on York is exceptional! Had the homemade Cesare salads, rib eye, chicken fettuccine, and creme brulee that was all to die for.
Our waiter, Doug, had a great sense of humor and made us feel very welcome the whole time!
And the atmosphere was lovely! We appreciated the tables not being super close together, and the atmosphere wasn't very loud either.
Overall, spectacular place, staff, and food. Hats off to everyone who makes that place what it is.

Giving this a one star for the treatment the server gave to my friends. Specifically the olde gentleman. Seemed to not care for my friends that came in with me (we were a group) they were wearing normal closed but I was the only one dressed up wearing nice clothes, gold and Chanel, I noticed he treated me nicer and was saying things like oh that’s a good choice to things I ordered etc while giving my friends the cold shoulder. Funny how you being a waiter and most likely earning minimum wage but treating other people differently for not being all dressed up. And at the end of the meal I asked for the machine and the lady that handed it over for some reason was watching me pay and just standing there ? Very uncomfortable and weird if you ask me and I’ve never gotten this treatment from any other restaurant.

Such a lovely spot for a date night. My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's Day dinner, and it was perfect. The food was amazing—we had the Chicken Fettuccine Saltimbocca and the Autumn Pasta. The drinks were also fantastic. The interior was beautifully decorated, and the charming barn-style exterior added a cute touch. We absolutely loved it here!

Service great 10/10. Food 4/10. Seasonal vegetable = slightly warmed and raw. Dijon potato cooked nice but tasted like buttered potatoes. Duck L'orange has zero citrus notes, and fat was not rendered enough - very chewy. Tenderloin was pretty good. Essentially proteins 6/10 and sides were 2/10. Love the view of graffit. 🤷 The 4.9/5 rating is virtual insanity. Idlewyld is much better.
Response: I will not tell the server that the chef is boring and lacks the ability to turn a carrot into anything but a slightly warm carrot. The concern is not the length of cook of the sides, but the lack of transformation into something worth discussing to begin with. Nor will I tell the server that the chef doesn't realize mustard cooks out and you need to add it in after the cook if you want potatoes to retain the Dijon flavour. That's literally your job as the owner. $160 for two people. I shouldn't have to tell you to try honey glazed carrots.
Of course the graffiti was outside. It's almost silly you would even suggest I could possibly be addressing indoors. I don't plan on coming back, so I don't need to let the server know that I don't want to see trash in the river and graffiti on walls.
