Ichiban Sushi was our favourite spot in London and we were so sad when they closed down. However, we are so happy to see that the Chef is still the same person at Plaza Sushi Omakaze! The sushi is delicious and the attention to detail is exceptional! Highly recommend!

For the last ten years, my family and I just loved Ichiban Sushi on Wellington Road. Although it was fairly pricey, it was always worth it. It was fresh and melted in your mouth. The sign is still Ichiban but it’s under new ownership. I had to call and ask what changed. I opened up our order and immediately knew That it was not Ichiban. It wasn’t fresh. Even the pickled ginger was dry. The price has gone up but the food has gone the opposite direction. 75 dollars worth of sushi is left over. We used to fight over the last piece. Instead, it’s in the compost bin. They didn’t seem to care that a regular customer was disappointed. We won’t be coming back because we can get better sushi at the grocery and save over 100 dollars.

My fiancé and I first encounter with Plaza was when they opened their first location in London on Richmond. If was their soft opening (July 2022). I heard good things about this place and how they started out in St. Thomas. As a birthday dinner I requested we go. There was 10 of us and we just enjoyed the menu. A month ago we went to check out their Masonville location and yup…same friendly polite service and the menu was delicious as their down counterpart. Now we just had to try their Omakase. As an early Valentine’s Day dinner with my fiancé I went and made reservations for the Omakse Osaka option. It did not disappoint. The chef explained every piece that he served to us. From locally picked fresh and finest ingredients to what was in it, how to eat it, to dip it in soy sauce or not. Every piece was delicious. If you like sashimi, sushi, maki etc. you’re going to notice the difference in taste and texture when eating here. Top notch cuts and pieces that literally melt in your mouth. To name a few the sashimi moriawase, aburi sake toro, shima aji, o-toro, chirashi sushi, black tiger shrimpwith rice puff crust, anago, and the chef choice premium hand roll were our favourites. The whole course was tasty but these caught our attention. You wouldn’t want to have sushi anywhere else but here. We decided not to take pics of our food cause we wanted to enjoy the full experience without distractions. Some experiences first time around don’t need to be recorded and just be in the moment and I’m glad we did just that. Highly recommended Plaza Sushi Omakase. Will definitely come back again. Hats off to the chef and staff.Ps definitely add the wagyu piece to your omakase. Worth the add on.
We came here for lunch and I have to say this will be the only place I go to for sushi from now on. Everyone is very professional and polite and the sushi is the best I've had. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

The Restaurant Menu is a la carte and the Omakase menu is for full course meals. One thing to note before you go: you have to make a reservation to get a full course meal.I explored a lot of their sushi. They serve classic rolls, specialty rolls, Aburi Oshi Zushi, and sushi sets. One of the highlights was their Ebi-caviar Roll. In it was crab, avocado, and green onion topped with tiger shrimp, micro sprouts, teriyaki sauce— and sturgeon caviar! Another standout was an Aburi Oshi. It had saba, shime mackerel, shiso (an herb), smoke salt, ginger, and green onion.This restaurant is elegant in many ways. I was relaxed by mellow instrumental music throughout my meal. Additionally, booths give you privacy. Lastly, the room is dark which adds to the already luxurious atmosphere.Sushi lovers, PLAZA needs to be your next sushi stop. This is the only sushi place I know of that offers a prix fixe menu.
