The food here is mediocre at best. Ordered the sushi and sashimi set which was a huge disappointment... The ramen was not much

A gem, one of my favourite places to dine in London. Udon is fantastic and there are so many different combinations to try. Haven't been dissapointed yet!

Did not enjoy the sushi here. I am pretty picky about sushi but was surprised to see all the good reviews. Maybe their other offerings are better.
Tanakaya Japanese Restaurant is a cozy little spot in Covent Garden Market that left me thoroughly impressed. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to find that they had a delicious option for me - the miso ramen with dumplings was simply fantastic! The lady serving us was incredibly accommodating and displayed the utmost courtesy throughout our meal. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience, which made the visit all the more memorable. To complement the meal, I tried their boba tea, and it didn't disappoint! The blend of flavors was perfect, and it added a refreshing touch to the entire lunch. The owners of Tanakaya truly take pride in their restaurant, and it shows in the exceptional quality of both the food and the service. If you're in Covent Garden Market and looking for a delightful Japanese dining experience, Tanakaya is the place to be!

Huge menu makes it hard to decide. However I've always ended up getting the Eel on Rice. Phenomenal! Quit spot in the back corner of the market makes it a great place to enjoy your afternoon with great food and a bustling outside atmosphere. ?

Staff are so nice!Service is fast and efficient! The best Katsu in the city. And they season the sushi rice perfectly, a lot of places are heavy handed with the seasoning and it tastes way to acidic but not here.

Got salmon skin roll, fire dragon roll, and white tuna roll.Larger proportion of rice than what I’m used to. Ultra crispy salmon skin and tempura shrimp fillings!!! I know lettuce in sushi seems a little unconventional but you barely taste it.

Great, authentic Japanese food. We have ordered from eight different items from the menu and all were tasty. Looking forward to our next visit. Only wish they had Karaage on the menu.
