Arrived at hotel after making a reservation through Marriott in the summer and even received an email this week preparing us for our stay, to find out the hotel was permanently CLOSED!! Talk about stress knowing we were here for a tournament and wondered if we would be able to find a hotel room on short notice. When I spoke with the Marriott representative, he was apologetic and assured us that a full refund would be issued and a formal report had been made so other guests would know it was closed. After I begged him to help us find accommodation at a sister location, he did come through but we had already found a room at the Holiday Inn. We have been long standing Marriott members but after this and another disappointed experience in Halifax during the summer, we will definitely be looking into other options.

Its a lovely clean and comfy hotel and the staff are great, but I will never stay with Marriott again. At check in they take a £100 so called ‘security deposit’ as well as paying the bill up front. This wasn’t mentioned at booking time. This is not a pre auth, they are literally taking the money and holding it. Five days after I check out it’s still not been reversed and I’m told it will be another five working days before I see it in my account! They are not hoteliers. They make money by banking these so called deposits and earning interest on the money (from my money) for days. It’s crooked and outrageous.

Clean room, reasonable price, great hospitality, great food!!!

Located inside Courtyard Hotel, it certainly looks nice enough...but no prices listed in the menu ? Not an attractant.
