Great new chef! We hadn't been here in a few years as the food quality had slid, but we stopped in for lunch on the patio today because the weather was so nice. We were pleasantly surprised! Everything we ordered was fabulous. Buttermilk chicken burger w fries, Wortley King burger w sweet potato fries, and the goat cheese grilled chicken sandwich with a salad. Absolutely delicious all around! The server said that there is a new chef in the last couple years and that their food has really improved! Definitely give them a shot. Lovely shady patio.

Good live music. Great food. Decent prices. Very busy on a Saturday night. Nowhere to sit; had to stand.

The Wortley Roadhouse – Local Charm in the Heart of Wortley Village

The Wortley Roadhouse is one of those places that feels like it belongs to the neighborhood—in the best way possible. Nestled in the charming and quaint area of Wortley Village, this spot has a laid-back, village vibe that makes it perfect for a casual outing with friends or a relaxed weekend hangout.

The patio is a solid size and great for people-watching or catching some sun on a warm day. There’s even live music (possibly nightly or on select days), which adds a fun and lively energy to the atmosphere—definitely something I’ll explore more on my next visit.

Our server, Char, really stood out. She was friendly, polite, and gave us thoughtful food recommendations. Her attentive service made the experience even more enjoyable.

A charming touch I really appreciated: they have water bowls for dogs out front and a spot near the back patio where you can tie your pup. It’s a small gesture, but it says a lot about how welcoming the place is—not just to people but to their furry companions too.

Overall, it’s a comfortable, easygoing spot with good vibes and thoughtful service. I’ll definitely be back, and next time I’ll make sure to time it with the live music!

Went for lunch for the first time in a few years. What a shame. It used to be my spot to go.
I was very disappointed today as when I seated it turned out to be a broken chair. Asked if the waitress could replace because it was broken and I was given a weird look and very nasty * why what's wrong with it*.
I got my coffee which was burnt.
I ordered my food which was the buttered chicken and beef barely soup.
After I waited 40 minutes my food arrived at my table.
OMG. My spoon was dirty and I had no knife for my supposed butter chicken. I will elaborate on that in a sec.
The beef barely soup was out of a can warmed in a microwave, I know this as I was a person in the kitchen years ago and can tell by looking, smelling and tasting.
Now the so called butter chicken.
For some reason it was a burned twice deep fried peice of coated chicken on a bun like a hamburger. Burned.
I ate it and paid but I told the girl the only reason she got a tip was because it is customary even though you didn't do your job correctly at any time.
Fire the cook for trying to pass off canned soup as fresh and a butter chicken plate as a 2 times burned deep fried peice of coated chicken breast still cold on the inside which told me it was a frozen large chicken nugget.
I'll never go there again and would not recommend this place to anyone.
If I could give a zero that's what I would put.

Wings for the win. ALSO super DOG friendly patio. Their servers will often bring out water for our pet first thing! That is wonderful service.

Great place

Keith McDonald

Owner one of the most unwelcoming unfriendly people I’ve ever met. I would avoid this place at all costs.
