Always love this restaurant, been going there for years. My favourite is the cayenne beef chummy chunga love the Mexican slaw! I noticed it may be under new management but the food and service was top notch at my last visit! Hopefully it continues to impress!! Cheers!

Ordered an Enchilada and a Chimichanga for wife. I paid $70 for Uncle Ben's rice, canned beans and hamburger in my Beef Enchilada. My wife's Chimichanga wasn't any better. After frequenting them for 40+ years we will not go again.

Fantastic food and prices. Our server made sure we were well taken care of, including my 3- and 5-year-old grandchildren. It was a great experience!

I have been there a couple times in the past 2 months. One time for dinner, and one time for lunch. Both times there was not a wait to be seated. Servers were quick to take our orders and the food was on the table quickly. Servers checked on us both times throughout the meal. The food is amazing and the portions too. My girlfriend was happy with the menu having a lot of gluten-free options. Vegetarian as well.

One of my all time favorite restaurants! I have been coming here since 2013, and made the journey from Scarbourgh to share the experience with a loved one. The majority of the menu is or can be made, gluten free. Delicious, happy food, with lovely staff. I can't recommend this enough.

I’ve eaten at Under The Volcano before and the food has generally been good; however, my recent experience was deeply concerning and warrants a 1-star overall rating.
When I arrived for dinner yesterday, I was told to wait to be seated by an older woman with black hair and glasses. She appeared frustrated and disengaged, and made no eye contact or effort to acknowledge me for a few minutes while continuing to work.
More alarmingly, as I stood there, I observed her preparing what looked like a Caesar. Twice, she reached her bare hand, up to her wrist, into a jar that appeared to contain pickles, and then continued making the drink. This was done casually, right in front of me, without any regard for basic hygiene.
As a Professor in Food and Nutritional Sciences who researches food safety, I was genuinely appalled. This is not just poor practice; it is a serious food safety violation that puts customers at risk.
I don’t take leaving negative reviews lightly, but this experience left me with no confidence in the handling of food or beverages at this establishment. I hope management takes this seriously and implements proper hygiene protocols.
