One of the most memorable meals I've ever had! The concept is simply amazing and provides a dining experience unlike anything I’ve ever encountered before. I especially love that it's a blind tasting menu, which adds an element of excitement to the meal. The service was outstanding; having the chefs come out to explain each dish added such a personal touch.The food itself was amazingly authentic and incredibly delicious. I was blown away by the flavors and textures of every dish. It’s a place where you truly need to come open-minded and ready to try things you’ve never experienced before.Yaya’s Kitchen exceeded all my expectations, and I can’t wait to come back!

I had my first dinner at Yaya's, and it won't be my last. It's some of the most interesting food in London (which, I know, isn't saying a lot, but it can hold its own just about anywhere). Fresh and unusual ingredients, lovely presentation, and an inviting atmosphere.Do note that the menu on Fridays (at least as of this writing) is VEGAN. It only says "blind" tasting menu on the reservation system. Also, although I couldn't tell from the online reservation system, you can order wine a la carte at the restaurant, so you don't need to purchase the wine accompaniment in advance (and the wine for this option comes off of the menu, anyway, and isn't that much more expensive by the glass). I found the portions on the small side, but maybe that's a North American perspective and a problem, if at all, only for the Friday, five-course menu. If your worried about the spiciness of African food, I found that it wasn't spicy at all (except for the chocolate, which was amazing!). If you love spicy food, they can make adjustments for you.There's a nice atmosphere about the place, although your conversation will be put on hold as each course gets introduced to the entire gathering (there's only one seating and one menu, so all parties get each new course at the same time).And plan ahead! There are only two seatings a week, and they get booked up.

Went for my second visit last night. I gave this as a present to my family since I had enjoyed my experience so much the first time. This is more than meal it is an experience. From the first ring of the bell, Malvin has the ability to invite you into what he and his wife Maryam are trying to accomplish, to take you on a cultural journey with food. Every dish is prepared with such thought, love and attention and Malvin's explanations have you excited to try each dish. The flavours and textures are delicious, often like nothing I have ever tasted before. I hope more people discover this place and come with an open mind and ready to savour the entire experience. I plan to go back regularly!

My wife and I got to celebrate my birthday by trying out (for the first time ever) a tasting menu and wow is all we could say after every dish. Each dish was incredibly unique, flavourful and ridiculously delicious. The crew at Yaya's kitchen were so passionate about the experience they wanted to share and it really came across super well to the other guests and us. While the food was definitely the star of the show, the experience was truly immersive and they had a message that they wanted to share and executed wonderfully. I would love to come back with friends, and families as I feel this is a truly unique and enlighting experience into afro-cuisine. I would give it 10 starts if I could.
