I am flabbergasted! I have been ordering from this restaurant for over 10 years. Tonight I ordered the no.1, which comes with sweet and sour chicken balls. I had requested to have the sauce on the side instead of on the chicken as I am sharing the meal with my children who do not like the sauce. They then adjusted my price to charge me for the sauce! I am not getting extra sauce…. But just asking for it to be on the side.

When I called to inquire they told me that they are now charging for things like this since this year. I had ordered from them a month earlier and this was not an issue. They then told me that “I don’t know how the business works” and it costs money for containers. I have worked in restaurants for over 12 years and take out containers are a cost of doing business as a restaurant owner….,

Therefore, I am now being charged extra, for what is included in my meal, already…. Even though I won’t be getting extra sauce. It also doesn’t cost $2 for one mini take out container. The meal was already expensive enough before this!

As a lifelong Manotick resident I am floored. I will not order from here again, and am really disappointed in the way they are charging customers and dealing with customer service.

My family members, including my elderly mom, met at Pearl House to have a dinner in memory of my father. The server was rude from the get-go. She seemed annoyed we asked to eat in. The restaurant was empty.

We had a young family member with serious allergies so, as per the menu, we notified the server. She was not nice or helpful about it. We ended up ordering him plain steamed rice and she reluctantly agreed to add chicken. He couldn’t risk eating what was served. They charged us $15 which was more than most of our meals.

“Service” was her silently putting things on the lazy Susan.

When I went to the counter to pay she shoved the bill at me. She never spoke to me.

The brusque service ruined our family get together. As for the food, it was only ok.

We dined in the restaurant. My mother is 92 years old and was treating me for lunch when it came time to pay my mother was having a difficult time with the tap, so the lady said she would help her and took the debit card machine in her hand and entered in the information and tapped it for my mother. When we looked at the receipt we saw that she, without asking, give herself a tip, whereas my mother already had the money on the table for a tip when I noticed this, I told my mother to pick up the money she left because the server I believe she’s one of the owners, perhaps took it upon herself to tip herself without asking or letting us know which I thought that was very rude and disrespectful to do to a 92-year-old woman.

Tried this restaurant for the first time today and I'm happy to say it is now my favourite Chinese restaurant in the city! Great food and speedy service

We have been going there for possibly 7 or 8 years now, and we have never been disappointed. The food is delicious. The variety is very interesting and enjoyable. We would highly recommend the visit.

Disrespectful and rude staff for no reason! Not worth your time.

Good food at a reasonable price.

My family and I got takeout from Pearl House and all 4 of us thought it was outstanding. We really enjoyed the jumbo egg rolls and the chow mein. It was fresh, hot and well priced. The restaurant is very cute and although we didn’t eat in, it gives a really authentic vibe which I loved. The woman who cashed us out, was kind and ensured we had everything we needed. We will definitely order from here again.

Food very bland, no flavor, everything tasted the same. Szechuan noodles not spicy at all. Beef and vegetables, beef was mushy. First time trying, won't be a second time. Very disappointed
