In my opinion the soup dumplings here are good but not great. I really like the price of take out here for a easy lunch. It's affordable and I usually get the 6 pc soup dumpling but the pan fried is pretty good too!

Had a late lunch with my friend today before grocery shopping, first time trying this place even though I’ve heard about it for a while! They’re known for their buns, noodles, and other dishes, and honestly, the hype’s real. The veggie meat buns were super soft, juicy, and packed with filling. The egg crêpes were crispy inside, saucy, and full of flavor. I got the seaweed soup wontons the soup was a bit salty for my taste, but the wontons were delicious. For sides, we tried the shredded chicken (wasn’t a big fan of the sauce) and the stinky tofu, which unfortunately didn’t sit well with one of us 😭 maybe it was the sauce? Still, everything came to around $30, which isn’t bad at all! Good customer service and I rlly like the atmosphere of the store but food should improve a bit..

I've been ordering takeout recently from Bao Express and every order has been solid and has me coming back for more. I appreciate the Mrs. Digi online ordering system and this is now my go-to for chinese dumplings. The prices are reasonable. The egg chinese crepes are more on the dry side and the noodles are a bit on the too soft side for my personal liking, but the dumpling are definitely the star of the show.

The food was better than I expected. Other than the noodle was too soft, everything else was good. My favourites were the pork shrimp dumplings and the preserved meat fried rice. The service was good and attentive. Eating there feels like eating in a library or a museum... very quiet. The only downside was the seats. You shared your seat with strangers back to back closely.

Food here is absolutely amazing. Authentic Tianjin meals at a fair price and an extremely high quality. The chefs know what they're doing with the wok. Service is attentive and friendly. The only thing I could say is the seating arrangement is somewhat awkward in functionality. Asides from that, highly recommend. Extremely underrated place.

Easy to find parking, neo-Industrial style of interior, & delicious food! We had the Braised Beef Noodle soup (beef could be better), Juicy Pork Dumplings, & the Corn Pancake which was flavorful and crispy! Yum! The condensed milk on the side worked well to add an element of sweetness to the crunch. Atmosphere was bumped down to 3/5 as there was no music, or background noise which made it a bit odd listening to others eat & talk. Def recommend a visit! ⭐️

Terrible service. It took more than 20 mins to make chili oil noodles when there was no one at the place and little to no orders. There were 2 ladies and one guy server. The two ladies did not even get to the noodles until asked when the noodles were going to be finished 15 mins later.

Nice little restaurant and server was welcoming. Most of the orders they had were take-out. Food is reasonable priced and portion is good for sharing as you can order many plates to share.

Bao Express is more of a casual takeout-style spot or quick eatery — not really a place to sit and linger. I’ve been there a few times, and I usually order their Hunan-style noodles, especially the one with sour long beans or the farmhouse stir-fried pork (农家小炒肉) noodles. Those dishes are honestly quite good — flavorful, satisfying, and make for a solid lunch.

However, I strongly do not recommend their 煎饼果子 (Chinese savory crepe). I’ve had 煎饼果子 from many places, and theirs was by far the most disappointing. The texture and flavor just weren’t there — I wouldn't order it again.

They also serve baozi (steamed buns) and dumplings, which are decent — nothing amazing, but enjoyable enough. If you're stopping by for a quick bite, the buns and noodles are your best bet.

A few other notes:

The seating is uncomfortable — very basic and not designed for dining in. It feels like a “eat and go” setup.

Great for a quick lunch, especially if you’re craving something warm and flavorful.

Here’s my breakdown:

Noodles: 4 to 4.5 stars

Bun/dumplings: 3 to 4 stars

煎饼果子: 1 star at best — would not recommend

Overall: I’d give the place a 3 out of 5. It really depends on what you order.

Stick to the noodles and buns, and skip the jianbing — and you’ll likely leave satisfied.

Food portion is not good at all. 9 dollar for a little portion. I can feel the inflation indeed. So painful!
