Cafe N One in Markham is a cozy little spot for Japanese-style café treats.
The sautéed mushroom grilled cheese on Japanese toast was freshly made and delicious, with the toast perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. I paired it with a hojicha latte (roasted green tea) — it had a wonderful aroma and was very comforting. I ordered it with no sugar and substituted oat milk, which complemented the roasted tea flavour nicely.
The highlight was the matcha red bean soufflé pancake. It takes about 30 minutes to prepare, but it’s definitely worth the wait. The pancake was fluffy, creamy, and had a lovely egg aroma. The matcha sauce was rich and fragrant, and the red beans tasted authentic, like they were imported from Japan.
They also have lots of choices on the menu, from snacks, savoury toast, croissant dishes, pasta, udon to desserts and drinks.
Service was friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that the café is quite small and the tables are a bit crowded. Still, a lovely spot if you’re craving Japanese café desserts.

Excellent coffee and breakfast. I had the pistachio cube croissant which was superb! My wife had the croissant with egg and cheese which she also really enjoyed. Many other unique things on the menu that I would go back to try.

Stopped for a quick bite. Washrooms are horrific. Filthy. Makes you wonder what food prep areas are like.

One of our favourite brunch places in Markham. The food is always delicious!
Based on the service my friends and I received yesterday, the workers deserve to be recognized for going above and beyond, and accommodating us and two young children. Thank you all so much!

Terrible staff that care more about money than the service they provide.

Tried many different dishes and everything was delicious. The coffee was especially good. This is one of the brunch spots I've been going to a lot recently. Didn't get to try the dessert yet,but they looked great-definitely next time!

The food, drinks and people at this cafe are all 5 stars. Best Iced lattes & macchiatos I've ever had, and their food is also fantastic. They always greet everyone with a smile and are very friendly. I have been going regularly for about a year, and haven't had a bad experience.

Although the service was good and everything was fine the food was not that bad and the matcha strawberry latte was Devine , when we get to the bill, the server told us we need to order with minimum of $50 dollars before tax to have 10% off. With they didn’t state on the menu nor told us before hand . I think it was a scam and not a proper way to present the idea.

I’ve been small cafe a lot of times and food is always consistent. Very good fusion pasta and cooked perfectly every single time. Service is super friendly and restaurant is very clean. This is always the go to spot.
