We celebrated a family member’s milestone birthday at Carmelina Restaurant. The manager or owner, Luigi was warm, welcoming and extremely accommodating. The waitress that served us (sorry, I am not sure of her name) was efficient and provided us with excellent service. The food and wine was great and so was the singer who serenaded the patrons. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I was excited to try this spot based on recommendations, but the experience didn’t match the expectations. Instead of traditional Italian bread or fettuccine, we were served Persian barbari—unexpected and out of place. The food quality was average at best, yet the prices were on par with upscale Italian dining. Unfortunately, the value just wasn’t there. Hope they refine the menu and match the pricing to the experience.

Lovely restaurant, great ambiance, quiet enough for conversations. The patio looked great as well but we sat inside for this visit. We started off with the bruschetta, which was okay but a bit bland. The Chicken Carmelina was nicely done as was the salmon, both cooked just right, and the scallops were melt-in-your-mouth to die for. However, I found the sauces that covered the dishes a bit strong. I prefer my sauces more subtle to allow the natural flavours of the dish to come through. The strange thing, and certainly not a dealbreaker, just more peculiar than anything else, was the price of the beer. I was glad that they had draught, but my pint of beer was almost twice as much as my glass of wine. It ranks up there as one of the more expensive pints I've had at any restaurant that is not a lounge or a five-star hotel.

We booked online on their available spot 8:30pm for our Anniversary. We got there at 8:20. The server rushed us to order fast as their kitchen was closing at 9:00. Everything felt rush rush . I was excepting a small gesture for our Anniversary but it seemed the only thing they cared was finishing the job and closing up !
A wonderful Italian restaurant. The ambiance was lovely. The service was prompt and the weight stop were very knowledgeable. Definitely will be back.
