Always my first choice for afternoon tea. Beautiful view, cozy and inviting environment. Anything pistachio here is my favourite — very powerful and rich in flavour. I’ll always come back for this.
If a cafe is empty with no customers dining in or no take-outs in sight on a Saturday afternoon when the adjacent coffee shop is beyond busy with more than 20-minute waits on each order (especially when it’s cash only), it can signal one thing: wassup with customer service and price of food and drinks?! Very disappointing first visit even though we spent more than $30 for one drink, two pastries, and one dessert (which they got wrong, and we had already paid, so they had to adjust separately). The beef sausage pastry was undercooked, and even though the Mocca pillow and the dessert were good, it’s definitely not worth a second visit.
Taste delicious, especially the yoyo, Matcha opera and the rocher dessert
Good selection of desserts, though they tend to be a bit too sweet.
Good food and drink
Everyone are really nice
The owner is a Canadian chocolate champion—and you can taste it! Every dessert feels carefully balanced and sophisticated. The Christmas Yule Log is a must-try. Cozy ambiance and friendly service. Will be back!
3.5/5 stars
Visited on a summer weekend morning right at opening and witnessed the operational reality of a small bakery handling sudden crowds with one staff member up front juggling everything while 10-13 customers piled in within 30 minutes.
THE GOOD: Iced matcha latte was genuinely excellent – proper earthy matcha complexity, not just sweetened powder. Sesame Matcha Pillow delivered on flavour with satisfying crunch-to-cream contrast (just prepare for messiness). Seven years in business + new downtown location proves they're doing something right.
THE MEH: Regular latte looked Instagram-perfect with beautiful latte art but tasted just okay – classic case of aesthetics over flavor. Black Sesame Strawberry cake was architecturally impressive but required strategy to eat gracefully.
OPERATIONAL REALITY: Single portable oven at front counter creates chokepoints for dine-in heating. One front-of-house person during weekend rush = long wait times. Takeout customers have strategic advantage. An extra oven + one more staff member during peak hours would dramatically improve experience.
AESTHETIC DISCONNECT: Markham location has IKEA-style furniture and mixed vibes – functional but not Instagram-worthy. Their downtown location looks significantly more design-conscious (check their Instagram to see the difference).
MENU TRANSPARENCY ISSUE: Website/Instagram lack updated drink menus when I visited during the summer. When I was visiting at that time, Google reviews show old menus without matcha drinks as of early August 2025, which seems wild given matcha is clearly a strength.
BEST FOR: Morning people who appreciate quality matcha, don't mind waits, and prefer substance over aesthetics.
PRO TIP: Order takeout and skip heating to avoid the wait, or visit during off-peak hours. Definitely get the iced matcha latte over regular coffee.

They have many types of Danish croissants here.
I tried the Black Sesame Matcha one. I really like sesame, and this was perfect for me.
It was very flaky and crispy. The sesame flavor was strong and delicious.
I will come back to try the other flavors next time.
Also they have other dessert that look great!
Very nice 😚😋
The desserts were exquisite and delicious.
Tasty pastries and friendly staff! Recommend :)

I came here to do a little bit of laptop work and I can say that this place is such a wonderful cafe. I ordered a London fog and it was such a beautifully made drink. It both tasted delicious and looked incredible too. Its a very quiet afternoon that I spent here, which was perfect to get some laptop work done.
The pastries and the other thing looks pretty fancy as well, didn't have a chance to try them out. I do look forward to coming back here in the near future!
Nice pastry shop! Love the pistachio pillow
Really beautiful and tasty selection of pastries and desserts. Their exotic coconut cake is fantastic!! It's also partially a cafe with seating and it's a lovely place to sit down and hang out
Such a quaint little spot for a delicious and meticulously made pastries. I highly recommend enjoying the moment here.
Best pastries and desserts I’ve ever tried! Everything was super delicate, beautifully made, and absolutely delicious!!! The place is clean, spacious, and has plenty of seating, which made it really comfortable to hang out and enjoy the food. Big bonus: there’s free parking too! Can’t wait to go back and try more🥰
