Just had a great lunch there, staff is polite and patient. You can see the passion for food from his eyes. The see food is amazingly fresh and rare to find anywhere else. Their seasonal items are amazing and reasonably priced. Overall great place for Japanese experience !

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I totally would! Cho SAN (Good Morning) Sushi is honestly one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever been to. You can tell they really care about what they do — everything feels authentic and high-quality.

Their homemade soy sauce, real wasabi from fresh roots, and fish sourced straight from Japan make such a difference in the flavor. Even watching them use those beautiful, professional sushi knives right in front of you is such a cool experience!

The staff are super friendly, the service is amazing, and you can tell they genuinely want every customer to have the best time. I’ll definitely be coming back again (and again)!

Don’t let the external façade fool you, this is definitely a diamond in the rough! I’ve been to just a few omakase dinners (ATO and Umi in Markham, and Yasu downtown), but Cho San is definitely comparable.
The toro, shrimp, scallop and uni were excellent. I was surprised to be served 3 fish I’ve never heard of (chicken fish, horse mackerel, and largehead hairtail), also very good. I also never had unago - not the common unagi - but the saltwater version of eel, it was incredibly smooth.

The chef was very friendly and attentive, and paced our meal well. He mentioned that they get shipments directly from Japan, three times a week! Even the green onions in the miso soup are fresh from Japan.

The $48 bottle of sake was excellent, and because we couldn’t finish it, they packaged the bottle so nicely for us to take home.

Again, it wasn’t as fancy as the other three places I mentioned, and also much smaller - literally just one room with about 10 dining seats, but the experience was still very enjoyable and the food was a 10/10. I will return!

Chosan sushi was such an amazing experience. We went in for the Omakase Sushi #2 and everything was so wonderful. The owner/chef is so sweet and kind. The dishes tasted so delicious and were beautifully presented and crafted. I loved the variety! Wonderful serene atmosphere. Definitely will be coming back. Terrific experience!

Went for their lunch omakase. Was meh. Not sure I’d be back. Quality of the fish was mediocre. And the cuts weren’t very impressive. But it was lunch so maybe their dinner will be better

A Heartfelt Experience
We celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday at Cho San Sushi, and it was truly memorable. The entire experience felt special — all the seafood was flown in fresh from Japan, and each dish was thoughtfully presented with explanations about its origin and background. The service was exceptional, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.
Highly recommended for a refined and meaningful dining experience.

We came for my sisters celebration and Daniel was our omakase chef. He was so kind and the fish was so fresh! We had the 15 course omakase and was really full after! Highlights were the Toro and fresh gourmet hand roll at the end!

What a surprise at this neighborhood Japanese omakase/take out sushi bar. Experienced chef, fresh seafood from Japan. Good 👍

I’m really disappointed in the service at this place. I ordered 2 omakase meals 1 week in advance. Before going to pickup, I confirmed with the restaurant again that it would be ready when I got there.

When I arrived, I waited an extra 30 minutes for the order even though they weren’t that busy. Not only that, they kept saying 10 more minutes (up to three times) while they served others ahead of me.

I haven’t had service this bad in a while. If there’s one thing they’re good at, it’s not caring about their customers!
