Sadly congee queen establishment have become a restaurant chain catering to the tastebuds of others more than Chinese community (which is sad as a Chinese restaurant).
The portions used to be bigger, with wok hei and higher quality. Now that their clientele has expanded and they aren’t relying on Chinese community for business as much, the quality has gone down hill and there are a lot more other Chinese restaurants still looking for the taste buds of people in their own community.
amazing all around experience!!
we were seated right away for lunch (12pm on a Saturday) and was greeted with hot delicious tea
the atmosphere is great and friendly! so many families and business professionals
our server was quick with taking our order and even gave advice on which dishes to order which was great
the squid calamari was out of this world- best we have ever had!! squid was so tender without the chewy feeling some places have
the thick udon noodles with pork and shrimp was amazing with taste! the sauce was amazing. the pork was so tender and had no chewy feeling which was awesome
the vermicelli noodle dish was so flavourful but light at the same time! 10/10
the vegetable spring rolls were good as well
the shrimp and scallop congee was out of this world! so delicious
one thing to keep in mind is the portions, unlike other places, congee queen has huge portion sizes so keep in mind if you’re a duo don’t order too much like we did. we did take it home which was great in the sturdy boxes they provided
overall what an amazing experience and we will for sure be back to try other things on the menu!
very affordable too when you take in account the fresh to made dishes and portion sizes. can’t beat this!!!
Never disappointed. Good food quality control!

Just like any chain restaurants, there is no surprise but it is a "safe" choice for a quick hot meal. It certainly isn't the best but is good enough for it's price point for an Asian meal. We had soup noodle, fried noodle and congee and they all turned out not bad. However, this is their only location that I have tried, so I can not say all the congee queen in town will taste the same.

A Chinese restaurant providing a big variety of food, from appetizers, noodles to stir fried dishes. Price is valuable and affordable, depending on your budget. Noodles is 10 bucks something. It closed late at night and it is our top choice for late dinner.

Well, how do I say this in a nice way? You just can't!
Unfortunately, over the weekend, I went to Congee queen, located in Markham. I'll be honest the taste of food is great! I won't deny that, but the cleansingness of the restaurant isn't, and why I say this is that I found hair 2x in the same dish that was prepared. The 1st order found hair called them. They made a new one and again found hair. Disgusted, that i had to say something to management even though they apologized, and that's fine. we were not rude to each other. But I must say management is in charge he should be looking at the kitchen counters etc .. making sure they are wearing hair net etc but most of all the chefs should be looking at the food they cook and prepare and all those other people in the back should be checking and making sure utensils and counter tops are being cleaned properly .. I dont care if it's busy that is the job! It's gross. I almost vomited that evening, feeling like vomiting thinking about what happened. I then requested for a full refund, including the food I bought in which I didn't even yet open, but bc of what happened with the other dish 2x, it disgusted me. I went and got Browns Katsu instead ! Clean and everything as always love that place ! If these guys can do it, so can Congee Queen !
To be honest, I will not be going to them for a long time. I'm turned off it's quite clear the kitchen isn't cleaned properly to have that happen to me and they were busy too that day I could imagine how many hairs could have landed in these people's food! Yucky!
So, management, you really need to do something to make sure this doesn't happen again ! I don't care how busy I really don't. I know a lot of places and they take care of their kitchen !
This was delivery so cannot speak about service or atmosphere. We order from this location of Congee Queen often. I recommend their Salt Pepper Pork. It is one of the few places that does the dish well and authentically Cantonese style. We got shrimp wonton noodles, congee, salt pepper pork & beef brisket/tendon. Everything was tasty. My only gripe poaaibly was that the delivery take-out didn’t automatically come with red vinegar with the wonton noodles. So be sure to remember to ask!

Raw beef porridge, beef is juicy and smooth.
The beef tendon noodles are so dry and slippery.
The double-ball noodles are enough to make your teeth chewy. Yummy yummy! ! !

I used to love congee queen and have always ordered from them. But yesterday when I ordered takeout I found stainless steel scrub in my congee, this is another level, will never come back or order

What happened to to this place? Congee Wong and Mr. Congee are better options.

Did take out so can’t comment on service and atmosphere.
Food was good, it wasn’t anything out of this world. Nice to have an option on Canadian thanksgiving while i was here for vacation.
Parking: Free parking lot in plaza with other restaurants so it’s busy

The only reason I am giving this restaurant a 1 is because their food is decent. Their service is absolutely horrendous, if you can even call that service. No hellos, no byes, no smiles, horrible attitudes, and never asked us about the food. I do not recommend sitting in, I would suggest as take out.
