I'm not rating the food in this instance but the service. This location has a reputation for not picking up the phone when people are calling for Take-out orders. I called and the phone kept ringing and ringing for at least 10 minutes. Finally a human responded and said that they had a large catering order currently underway and that my order would take at least an hour. I prefer the original location on Ellesmere and Bellamy.

Frederick restaurant is Scarboroughs original Hakka restaurant. My wife and her parents have been coming here since she was a child. I was hesitant the first time I ever came here but honestly WOW the food is AMAZING you have to dine in to get the full food experience. Dining in is the best and you get to take home whatever you don't eat. I recommend the chilli wings, fried rice, Federicks special fried chicken, chilli chicken white meat with gravy and the Bombay fish. Everything's very tasty and clean. Love Federicks we drive 1.5 hours every other week just to come eat here!

Terrible Hakka food. Kris recommended two “spicy, flavourful” dishes — both were completely bland, no salt, no spice, nothing. I asked for semi-gravy and got full gravy. When I called, they ignored my feedback and insisted it was “perfect.” Easily one of the worst Hakka experiences I’ve had.

We have been going to Federicks since ages and the best part is, that the quality, flavours & quantity has remained the same. Our friends and family from abroad love Federicks chicken pakoras. Our all time family favourites are chicken pakoras, deep fried calamari, hot & sour as well as chicken corn soup, chilli chicken, Mumbai beef, crispy fried beef, garlic prawns & chicken chowmein. We have also tried and liked their manchurian rice & noodles. Service is quick, all the servers are friendly, give great suggestions if asked. Federicks is the best restaurant for a casual, halal, hakka chinese chinese food experience. 👍👍
