I ordered 12 buns through a delivery app hoping to gift them as a thank you treat only to find they no longer (or just didn’t for me) used a box packaging and just a plain paper bag. On top of this, it appears they spent absolutely no time or care packaging the product causing each bun to deform by being crushed and its contents spilling out all over each other (unsure how much was the shops fault and how much was the drivers) I was unable to even salvage one and tossed the entire bag away, leaving me empty handed (again, these were supposed to be a treat)
I did however receive a a few phone calls that I was unable to pick up and refund (photo evidence provided to the store through the app) so I do commend them for trying to do the right thing. In my opinion, the quality of this establishment fell off a cliff.

Visited the bakery at 4pm on a Sunday, with their closing time at 8pm, and was disappointed to find they were mostly sold out. The selection was extremely limited, with only 1 red bean, 4 yuzu, and a few chocolate buns available. No original flavor, seasonal strawberry, or melon buns in sight. The online system was misleading, showing all flavors as available before I made the drive, which was frustrating. Should they not make more if stock is running out and still a while from closing?
The online platform still charges HST on a purchase of 6 or more items, which should be tax-exempt. While I understand arriving closer to closing might limit options, the poor selection and inaccurate online system is disappointing. I hope they improve inventory management and online accuracy in the future.
At least the buns are still tasty..

Hattendo never disappoints! I absolutely love their cream buns. I went last friday and the young male employee was so efficient and helpful, making the experience even better. Great service and amazing treats!

Went for the buns but loved the pudding even more! Matcha bun was deslish. Caramel pudding presents beautifully, in a decorative glass jar - tied with a string bow. YUM :)

Bought a cream bun set yesterday and was disappointed to find out I was misled about the taro mochi cream bun when I did ask the associate beforehand if they used real or artificial taro and her initial response was both but then she later clarified her answer to “it was real”. When I took a bite at home I discovered it was mostly artificial taro powder used with real taro chunks, which was also confirmed by checking the ingredients on the packaging. I would not have bought it if I wasn’t misled as I don’t like artificial taro flavour. I did enjoy the other cream bun flavours though. I did also find the potatoe croquette sandwich a little too bland for my liking. The standout was the hojicha pudding which I would totally recommend to anyone who enjoys hojicha.
Came today there was young girl working at the moment, first time had the bad experience at Hattendo，not sure that girl is new or not in her mood, she was bad in English and so rude! I order the matcha almond tofu pudding, she spoke to me so loud said"has nut!" Excuse me?of course i know, but why would you talk to your customer another way like "this pudding with nut, are u okay for that?" I said i know, just one pls, she has no patient also,once collected my credit card payment, i said thank u, and she's no response.
it was only 12 at noon, how she can continue to work next few hours. Customer buy desserts for treat themselves for happy not for moody,also when i back to the office there is not even a spoon inside,how can i trusted her?she was not even ask with her bad attitude, it's also my fault,usually Hattendo staffs would ask or include with the take out.wish next customer good luck then

Amazing! I tried the iced matcha latte and iced houjicha latte, it was my first time at this cafe and I loved both drinks. I never tried houjicha before but I was pleasantly surprised, it has the smell of coffee/black tea but has a completely different taste, almost nutty! The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming.
The barista that served me was also extremely polite and helpful! I’d love to go Back soon!

The store looks nice, but why it costs almost $4 for a bun with cream? You can buy bag of that doft bun from Costco and fill in cream cheese yourself with total cost of 50cents

If I can give a zero star, I would definitely give it! I spinned the prize of one box however the male staff insisted I only got the prize of one bun, and refusing to let me see the camera. Management, if you see this message, please reach out to me. The staff refused to give me management’s phone number so I am not able to reach out, but I am really frustrated as a customer. This is not how we are supposed to be treated!

First time i ordered here today, i got 3 different flavors of cream bun and i recommend everyone to try them, i got strawberry, custard and chocolate, the buns taste good it taste similar to icecream buns theyre not too sweet and it has soo much fillings inside. The packaging of the buns and the place looks so cute such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the service is good fast and straight forward. Will go back to try everything on the menu.
