Overpriced Taiwanese fried chicken. It's large sure but at almost 15 a piece, it goes against the night markets of Taipei. Better eat it while hot too otherwise it becomes soggy very quickly.

Still one of my go to spots for Taiwanese fried chicken in Toronto. It's a real shame the downtown and North York locations closed, because Hot Star has always been a favourite. That said, this location absolutely delivers and tastes exactly how I remember from the other two spots.
The chicken is massive, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned perfectly. That signature flavour hits right away and brings back all the nostalgia. Portions are generous, freshly fried, and consistently satisfying.
If you've been missing Hot Star since the closures, this location will not disappoint it's the same great taste and quality that made the original locations so popular. Definitely worth the visit for longtime fans and newcomers.

the sign at the front says boneless chicken and i would understand if there was a few small bones as well as some cartilage, but there were fat and flat bones that covered the bottom half of the chicken. as me and my friend were waiting at the counter the employees had no regard for us despite knowing we were there, but the interaction with them was fine

The front staff is not that friendly. Although I know the staff changing quickly. The previous one already leave for long time. I feel she’s tired to face that many customers. I gave her a $50 but she doesn’t accept, yell at me she only accept $10 or $5 no big bills. (She think I never read although the words so small) I end up pay by credit card. Didn’t buy the food there until they change the staff.

No one mentions this in their review.
They close at 7. Closing hour is listed here as 7:30 but they won’t take any orders and they are there to clean up before they close.

Very good fried chicken! Very delicious and very different fried chicken! Unique Taiwanese huge fried chicken! Crispy outside and juicy inside! Be aware of small pieces of bones! Freshly prepared! 20 minutes waiting time is not that bad but it is worth the wait! Hopefully Pacific Mall renovates the area soon! Be sure you arrive early to get a spot to sit! Enjoyable supersized Taiwanese fried chicken! Excellent experience!!
Underwhelming. Nothing special.
The chicken was amazing and tasted really good. The drink options are underrated and go well with the chicken. Would definitely recommend this place to other people.
Avoid this place. The batter is so thick! We ended up throwing the fried outer crust and chicken was a thin bone in piece.
Would give 0 stars.
AWFUL!;
