The doubles were terrible. It was flour and turmeric. The tamarind and pepper were non existent. They need to switch to cheifs curry powder. Channa needs to soak longer or use a pressure cooker to soften.

The cream soda was authentic solo so I gave a star for that.

I was really craving oxtail, but my usual spot was sold out, so I decided to give this place a try based on the decent reviews. Unfortunately, the oxtail was a big letdown, it was tough, difficult to chew, and lacked any real flavor. I also ordered doubles (just in case), and thankfully they were much better I’d give those 4 stars.

If you’re stopping by for doubles, you’ll probably enjoy them. But if oxtail is what you’re after, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. I didn’t try anything else on the menu, so there may be other good options, but the oxtail definitely missed the mark for me.

Got some Doubles and a Chicken Roti. Very friendly service, and a tasty meal. They're using a turmeric based gravy for the curry and not the Red Tin darker curry mix. The curry gravy is also a bit on the oily side; its something you'll notice. The roti size is a bit smaller than other places, but they do put a good amount of chicken, and its soft, and the roti is not dry. The Doubles were good, but they dont have any chutney inside, like some other places do. Also of note is that there is no seating area. But overall, I'd return here

Best goat roti in town! The gravy is so delicious and I love how they are so generous with their gravy that it's dripping with every bite. SOOOO GOOD!!! I've been a customer for 30 years (Between their King St location, CNE Food Building, and now Markham) and I must say, they are very consistent and extremely delicious! Still tastes exactly the way they made it 30 years ago!

We ordered a catering meal for a family party and everyone was raving about the food. We had chicken, veggie and beef curry, roti, rice & peas and all of them were amazing. I was eating leftovers for lunch two days later and the flavours were still awesome! Can't wait to have some again! We have tried a number of other Caribbean take-outs and Island Foods Express is the best by far.

Wow! So this was my 1st time here, and my 1st time having a double! I ordered a chicken roti, a double and a patty, and I was really impressed with all of it! I wasn't quite sure on how to order or what to order, so I just told them to make it like they would for themselves. Absolutely Amazing! I will definitely be back! Super friendly too!

Caribbean / Islander Foods are definitely very tasty, but NOT here.
Order 1: The Goat Curry was extremely chewy. Gravy was NOT sufficient even for two (2) Rotis.
Order 2: Jerk Chicken was just boiled slices with some dried brown spices sticking here and there. Absolutely Tasteless - bland.
Order 3: Roti and Goat Curry: Roti was ok. Goat Curry same as above.
We ordered three (3) take out dishes but got just one fork.
We asked and confirmed some sauce, but there was none.
Not a Value For Money Deal - piddly portions.

Went on a Thursday at noon. Walked in, 6 people in front of me in line. Took an hour to order and get the food. This place prioritizes online and Uber order. If you want to try order online.

Ok. The doubles were good, I will give you that. However why do I need to spoon half and inch of oil from the top of the curry beef gravy and the curry beef itself to even taste flavour? Oil is not a flavour, it's an ingredient. Your kitchen staff should know better. You should be spooning off the oil and bits from the top as you cook. I'm disappointed because the doubles are the best I've had since I've been here.
