Haven't been to Kiu in a long time but I must say the food quality is definitely still at a high level. Last I remember the food options was more before (I remember they had ramen before but not anymore). Their sushi selection is still the same in a way. I highly recommend their signature roll.

Overall for a casual or even a date night, kiu is a great option to choose for dinner.

Upscale Japanese Restaurant on the same level as Cineplex in Downtown Markham. They have daily specials and happy hour. For food, they have rolls, don, skewers, and raw items. But they don’t have bento box meals.

Service is great. Seating and decor are pleasant. Ample parking both underground and surface.

We were there twice on our trip in Sept. Very nice decor. Food was beautiful & delicious. Matthew brought the chef out to meet us to find out about my food allergy. That's never happened before.
I had a chicken dish, my husband had a calamari dish. Excellent!!!

Seriously one of the best I've tried. Everything is so good and the service is fantastic. The renovations are above average with luxury looking washrooms. Highly recommended. The best part is the price is super reasonable.

We had an amazing dinner last night. The food was so fresh, favourably and the meat was cooked to perfection. This is some of the dishes we ordered, food was so delicious we ordered a second round of food. Our waiter Daniel was incredible, he provided some suggestions and it was appetizing. He made the experience and evening so enjoyable, we will definitely go back. Thanks Daniel!!!

I love the music here and the food we ordered (sushi, carbonara udon and spicy noodle soup I forgot what it’s called ) was decent. It’s worth it on their sundays specials. Daniel our server was very attentive . Just two things I didn’t like : 1) I brought a very mini bday cake for my family for cake cutting at the restaurant, like 4 inch, and they said there’s a cake cutting fee of $20 so I said no thanks. But I wished they would have just let us especially if it was so small and I said I would cut myself even. 2) they don’t offer any other ramens during dinner that they have available for lunch (I only have that 1 spicy noodle soup as an option, forgot what it’s called) , hence dock off that 1 point :)

This place has completely changed from a high end gem of a restaurant to not worth a second look kind of restaurant. The sushi chefs were older, very well trained and made great flavour combinations for their tataki and sushi rolls. These sushi chefs appeared very young and unseasoned. The dishes were messy, the flavoir combinations didn't make sense and they don't know the difference between a tataki, a crudo or a ceviche. The yellowtail ceviche was actually a tataki and was not fresh at all. The salmon tataki was overcooked and torched, not seared. The bluefin tuna aka the akami zuke was tasteless with a tasteless sauce. The service from ONE shorter waitress was a 5 star but a 0 from the taller skinny lady who was going in and out of the management office. Overall, it's sad to see how they ruined a once fully booked gem of a restaurant with awful food. The quality of the fish was awful, the flavour combinations didn't work and the plating was amateur. It was not worth the money.

Really well decorated and inviting atmosphere. The food preparation is well done and the delicate flavors are noticeable and enjoyable. Food came out fairly timely. Not too long of a wait.

A bit on the pricey side for the portions you get and more like tapas portions. Been here a few times for lunch but will have to try dinner sometime.

Staff are attentive but do leave you alone and not constantly asking how things are.

I guess it can be a good date place. Lots of space, nice decor, small plates to allow eating and talking. And then a walk around the block. I guess not a bad place for a date, movie and then dinner kind of thing since the theater is right there. Also a gym if you need to workout after dinner. Or before the date to pump those muscles 😆

Our family loves coming to Kiu for their cooked dishes, oishi and rolls. The udob carbonara is delicious! Rolls and oishi are always on point, Kiu signature and Salmon oishi are probably our favorites. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant for families and large parties too. The servers are so nice and give great recommendations. The restaurant is spacious and I love the ambiance.

Everything was fresh and delicious. We took advantage of some of their specials which was a surprise to us. Such as half price for rolls and $1 oysters. The oysters were fresh and tasty. Overall the service was good and the waiter was very attentive and accommodating.

Been here for a lot of special occassions and it is the perfect restaurant. Amazed by the quality of their fish, the service, the music, the vibe and everything I've tried on the menu were really good. In my opinion, 10/10 restaurant.
