I’ve been coming to this bar regularly for a long time and have always felt comfortable and safe here. The staff are attentive, respectful, and do a great job keeping an eye on the room while still being friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is lively but never out of control, and I’ve seen the team handle situations professionally and calmly when needed.
I was actually there the night referenced in a recent review and my experience was completely different — nothing unsafe or inappropriate stood out at all. Like any busy bar, not every night is perfect for every person, but painting this place as dangerous is misleading and doesn’t match my experiences at all.
This is a solid spot with good vibes, good people, good food and staff who clearly care about their patrons. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

It has been a few years before I have the opportunity to return to this neck of the woods… the town is enchanting and the Christmas lights are shining. Main’s Mansion is a comfortable place for gatherings of all kinds. I am a bit disappointed with the food, menu has a lot to choose from, prices are bit steep because the portions are not generous and the presentation lacks quality.Service was courteous and friendly, our waitress Amanda kept us fed and drinks were coming without delay. The washroom could use some TLC.

I ordered breakfast takeout this morning from Mains, and the food is excellent! Fresh, hot, and exactly what I was hoping for. But what really stood out was the service. The young woman who took my order and helped me was incredibly nice, professional, and welcoming. She made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable, even though I was just picking up takeout.

They obviously care about the food they serve. It was very good. Excellent quality ingredients and preparation. This is the type of pub restaurant that used to be a cultural landmark in most places, but is sadly being replaced or displaced. For what it is, it was tremendous. The atmosphere felt authentic and local. The service was excellent too. Server made me feel like I was at home, even though it was my first time visiting. He was an engaging guy, with an interest in being there, and a great sense of humour!
Places like this have soul, and it is great to see that it cares about serving quality food. I can't wait to come back. Thank you.

Older pub atmosphere. Brunch menu selection is varied but more like breakfast than lunch. Food quality and presentation very good. Server was attentive and pleasant. Washrooms down a steep older staircase. Pleasant older pub but not an upscale mansion. Nice!

I’ve been going here for years and am appalled by the service and behaviour as of recently. Drunk servers who have terrible attitudes. And spend their time flirting and drinking with other customers. Rude and terrible service. Allowed other customers to harass and make fun of my father. Can expect a call from me to take this further. Unacceptable behaviour.

Found this place by luck as it was only place open on a late sunday. Now its our go to beer place . Amazing fresh cut fries and cold beer. This is completely honest and bias free. Its an amazing place to be

VERY OLD restaurant if that’s what you’re looking for. I live a hour away and would go there to have dinner with friends when there’s a live band (usually Friday evening in summer). However, the service is the ABSOLUTE WORST when the band is present. Never enough servers and the ones there are running ragged trying to service patrons. During my last recent visit (band on site), our group actually had to go inside to the bar to get a drink. Furthermore, the arm rest of the (old plastic) chair I sat on snapped off and was not replaced even after I brought it to the attention of 2 (passing by) servers. Also you’d better have good balance to meander the steep stairs to get to the much needed improvement washroom. I left an hour and 15 minutes after NOT ONE SERVER came to our table. My last visit was just that - my last. I will never go there again !!!!
