I can only think of 2 words to describe my experience at Montana's BBQ & Bar in Markham yesterday evening... and it is TRAIN WRECK!It took 30 minutes for people's drink orders to come out and an hour for food. The kids meals were dropped off first then the first adult meal was brought out only to not make it onto the table as our server dropped half the plate on the floor... ribs and a bunch of French fries. She picked up the ribs but left the fries. Even after I asked her to come clean it up, it never was and was just left on the floor right next to our seats.My steak & lobster came out cold (same as another review) and was comparable to the temperature of my coleslaw though the cook on it was great. If only it came out at an acceptable temperature, it would of been fantastic. I also asked for a loaded baked potato but didn't get it which is fine as mistakes can happen or she didn't hear me properly but instead of saying sorry and I'll get you a new one, she said to me but you ordered the plain one. No I didn't. I know what I ordered.Lastly, my mom got the taster plate of ribs. She said it was dry and she wasn't even sure if there was 3oz. of meat on the plate lol. My dad had the honkin' beef rib and he also said it was dry and tough so not mouthwatering as advertised.I do feel bad for our server though. I noticed she was the only one serving our half of the restaurant. When I walked around, she had several big tables & for all you can eat ribs Wednesday, honestly, it is not fair to her and I can understand if she is flustered.

It's A Dyer Thing

Was mediocre. Service was more on the unprofessional side. You can see most of the service staff was paying more attention to what seems to be the regular bar stool warmers than groups or new customers. Food was a bit over heated which was on end edge of being burnt on outside. Not overly flavorful. The men's restroom was unacceptable! The accessibility stall didn't even have a door, so ide hate to be the one in a wheelchair fully exposed ! The whole area was dirty and not well laid out on how doors open. Poor though in construction and needs reno big time !The cutlery was all inconsistent. 75% of our table was set with no knifes. Slow service considering it was quiet, not referring to the food but referring to the requests such as condiments for the food.Was not impressed what so ever so we will not be hosting another group gathering here again.Example of some of the foods we ordered. fish'n'chips, chicken sandwich, steak and fries

Came for friends birthday. Waitress was horrible. Worst service experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Waited over an hour and half for food. Only 5 out of party of 12 got food. Birthday girl didn't even get served. My steak and lobster came out so cold that I sent it back. It was as cold as the coleslaw on the plate. There was no manager to assist just a night manager who was useless. Those who ate a bit and sent food back only got 20% off. Literally left and hit up pizza joint after. Horrible service. Worst I've ever experienced in my life. Shame on you montanas. I'll never eat at montanas again. If I could give a negative rating I would. Waitress was cold. Accepted no responsibility for her horrible service. Tried to blame it on the kitchen for food being cold which makes no sense because if she actually cared enough to bring it out when it was hot then we wouldn't have had an issue. She just didn't care.

I am so disgusted with this restaurant.. I came here with my family for my 40th birthday ... we made reservations in advance.. we sat here for 2 hours . our waitress came over twice in this time. our drinks were all done never offered top ups.. our food came and it was cold.. . everyone got served over a 35 min period.. oh and might I mention that MY dinner NEVER even came!!!!!! It's my birthday and I get to starve.. oh and the only thing they offered was a 20% discount. Oh and they wouldn't even give me a discount on my 1 drink that I had..This is so unacceptable...and apparently the GM says this is an acceptable way to deal with this... thanks for ruining my birthday!!

I was very disappointed with the level of service provided during our visit. We were celebrating our anniversary. We requested to sit at the same booth we sat on our first date. The restaurant was not busy at all. Our waitress was not attending to any other guests. I cannot even tell you the waitress’s name, as she didn’t even tell us, neither did she write it down on the table, as I know this is a common practice. We later had to ask her to give us crayons as she did not bother to do. She did not even come to ask us how the food was or if we needed anything else. She also did not ever come to ask if we needed a refill, I went to go look for her but didn’t see her and gave up. I had to go look for her to ask her to order dessert. In addition to that I also had to go look for her to pay for the bill. I would also like to add that she didn’t charge us correctly and took the bill right out of our hands, didn’t tell us what was going on and said ..oh one moment. When the food came out the burgers were sloppy. The veggie burgers are supposed to come with the apple bbq sauce, which they did not.we asked the waitress for the sauce, which she then brought out in small plastic containers- what happened to the measuring cups that they come in? If we wanted to eat in plastic, we would have gotten fast-food. We also ordered antijitos and the presentation was absolutely horrible. Everything was very rushed! I am so disappointed at this experience and it has ruined our celebration, we drove a long way just to come to this location as it was where we initially met. The service was horrible, especially considering we were the only guests to serve in the restaurant. I forgot to add- no lollipops/ mints were provided with the bill. The waitress wanted to do as little as possible. Montana’s has been my favourite restaurant and this visit have entirely ruined my whole experience. I am so sooo disappointed.

They do not have enough staffs, only 2 servers on the floor, waited for long time to serve and waited for over 30 mins for our food. I ordered Fish and Chips, the fishes were not crispy at all, it were chewy instead, very disappointed. My husband ordered surf and turf, when server brought the plate, only the steak was on the plate, no surf at all. The server noticed and needed to bring the plate back to the kitchen to redo, we had to wait again for his food. May be it was late at night, we arrived the restaurant at 7:35pm and we were not getting our food until 8:30pm, the wait was too long! We went there before, the service and foods were way better than this time.

Big kudos to our waitress Katie. The restaurant was busy and under staffed as we went on Thanksgiving Day. She was handling table orders, take out orders, greeting guests and directing them to their table, pouring draft beer, and bussing the tables as well. She did not even write down our order for three people and yet she delivered it exactly as ordered to each person, even including extra plates for shared items. She even managed to check in on us regularly in spite of the fact that she had to cover several multiple person tables including a couple of large groups. Food was good but the service was outstanding, especially under the circumstances.

We have been here before and in the past the food and service has been great. However, the dinner we had tonight was one of the worst. I ordered Fish and Chips, and the fries were cold and fish was lukewarm. Food should be made to order. The rest of my family’s food wasn’t much better. The server only came to take our order. He only came to check on us just to take our plates away. He never asked us how our meal was. The saddest part was we went early before the rush. They were not busy. I can imagine if they were busy. I would never come back again.

I have a food allergy, and the staff here took it seriously. I was able eat with confidence knowing they understand allergies. A very special shout-out to our servers; May, and Christine. As well as the owner Jenny! Excellent place to come enjoy a meal where everyone works together to create this environment!Dietary restrictions: I have a food allergy and they were knowledgeable in providing safe options for me to eat.

The food was good, and the side mushroom was delicious. Regrettably, the service was not as great as before, and the kitchen's poor ventilation resulted in a smoky restaurant smell.

Went there for all you can eat ribs, and overall it was great. The Pickled Caeser was very well mixed and the deep fried pickle topper was delicious. Fries were very nicely seasoned and the cornbread was delicious. The Apple Butter ribs were the best ones, but my only complaint was that with each new order the ribs got smaller and smaller.
