This iconic establishment did not disappoint. Reservations are a must for this place, especially on the weekends. House rules also state that no children under 5 are allowed at this establishment and that is that. So without further ado, from the minute you walk in you are greeted by the friendly and courteous restaurant staff. Owner Tom will usually greet you and your party at the door and take you to your table and seats. This restaurant that has a very old school vibe and atmosphere. I personally love the autographed photo's on the lower level on the way to the rest rooms of all the guests past and present who have visited this place. We started the evening with Riesling White Wine from Germany and then the famous table side Caesar salad. Wow, the table side Caesar for me and two friends was amazing, it was expertly made by an older/wiser gentlemen of the wait staff. The dressing was thick, creamy, delicious with a strong taste of Garlic to every bite. We all ordered Prime Rib Peter's cut 24oz medium rare. All I can say is WOW! It was amazing, delicious, melt in your mouth the best Prime Rib I ever had in my life so far. I also got mashed potatoes as my side and it was also the best mashed potatoes I have had in my life so far. This amazing evening was finished with a complementary slice of birthday cake for me along with birthday wishes to me from the exquisite wait staff. This amazing one of a kind life changing dining experience has truly left me speechless. Thank you Tom, the chefs, and everybody at Peter's fine dining for an unforgettable dining experience in Markham.

I love the old time setting there. The food met my expectation as the prime ribs and Caesar salad were awesome. My daughter (6 yrs old) had a great time. Complimentary bday cake added value. Gene Simmons gave my gals flowers. Constrictive feedback: Servant may let customer know what ingredients would be added to make the dressing. He asked "add everything?" "Yes" I replied. I did not realize spicy sauce was there. The ingredients were not in the manual. (Yes, I should have ask and was assuming dressing is not spicy) My daughter couldn't enjoy the tasty salad. In the future, when kids are here then let the adult know food may be spicy. Wish the restaurant all the best.

My wife and I were visiting from out of town for our anniversary. I decided on this place based on the reviews and wanting the old school fine dining experience. This place didn’t disappoint, fantastic service and great food, nice touch with rose given to my wife from the owner and complimentary dessert for our anniversary. 10/10 will be back when in the area.

I was pregnant and craved nice prime rib so I called Peter’s and made reservations. He asked if there were children and asked what age and I answered him 6 and he said that we just made the cut because they do not accept children under that age. We proceeded to the restaurant and went inside. My daughter was curiously looking at the displays in the front as I told them we have reservations. The owner looked around the corner at my daughter and said that they could not seat us. I was confused at first and wasn’t sure what he meant. He then continued to say they could not accept us because of my daughter and said “look at her”. He said some children are very well behaved and continued to insult my child in front of her. All she was doing was looking around in the front. He said his restaurant was for fine dining and not for children like her.
I have no problem with a restaurant not accepting children and enjoy a nice quiet meal without them sometimes, but don’t say you accept and refuse at the door.
If you are so concerned about how children behave then don’t say you accept them in the first place as he confirmed the reservation on the phone. Children are naturally curious and will look around at interesting things. She was not behaving badly in any way. I was pregnant and hungry and my reservations that were confirmed were refused at the door. In addition he insulted my child in front of her. Now each time we drive by the restaurant my daughter always remembers that the man there didn’t let us in.

This place does a great job creating a classic fine dining experience with it's ambiance and dishes. The servers were very friendly and did a great job preparing tableside dishes. The portion size of the food is quite large so be mindful when ordering to make sure you're able to finish everything.

I would pass by this place often whenever I was in the area and always wanted to try it, so, I decided why not have my birthday dinner here? Nice and cozy steakhouse in Markham with excellent service. They even gave me a rose and a free red velvet cake which was rich and delicious. Steaks were tender and cooked to perfection and had table side service, prepping the dishes fresh when we ordered the Caesar salad and bananas foster. Great food, great service, overall a 5/5 meal. I recommend trying Peter’s for a different wine-and-dine steak dinner experience!
