Congee is my comfort food when I got home sick for Hong Kong. This restaurant serve the traditional congee restaurant food and taste like HK. I love their portion is good for one people or 2 people share side dishes. Also a bonus for the young guy waiter, I see he work very hard and polite for everyone. That made my day.

Beef rice roll isn’t made of real beef, looks like some sort of beyond meat type of paste. Brought it up with the waiter and it’s said it’s minced beef, I know what minced beef looks and tastes like.
No thank you.
As we ate, empty dishes were piling up and four servers came by multiple time and none of them took the initiative to take the dirty plates away.

Solid place for congee. Line was long when we arrived but turnover is pretty fast - our party of 3 got seated in about 20 minutes. After ordering, our congees came within minutes. Portions are decent for one person, probably too small to share. Congee had a good amount of meat in it and was very tasty. Their dough fritter was soo crispy! We saw that you order dough fritter by individual piece so we ordered two thinking it would be standard single fritters. They're more like double pieces though so we definitely could have just ordered one. We also ordered a beef rice noodle roll which was nothing special. Overall, a good experience though and we'll be adding Sam's to our congee rotation!

Super value meals. Not expensive at all and tastes alright. I was not a fan of the chow mein (it was also $4 so I can't complain) but tasted okay when mixed with the congee. Some might say that the servers are rude, but most servers are very straight forward and quick.

Update 2025: It's been 6 years since I've been back, portions are still super small and still expensive as ever, food quality has been subpar compared to before.
2019: So it’s been a while since I’ve gone to Sam’s, ever since they’ve moved from Market Village but man has things gotten so much more expensive and the portion sizes have shrunk down. Quality of food is still decent but I know better places I can go to. I would only go for a convenience factor, other than that, value for money isn’t there anymore.

Very good quality especially the rice roll.
We barely find any other place sell this kind of rice roll. But they close so early @5:00 pm hope they will extend the hour like 7:00pm to 8:00 pm.
