This is the first time coming here after they have moved from Market Village. Definitely the store is much bigger than before, but not sure if the decor is better or not. In terms of food, I found the congee a little worse than before, more salty not as tasty. Maybe the business is bigger now so the quality is not as good. Hope they can improve.

Congee is good and able to recall good old time HK taste, spacious restarant, food portion is generally quite basic on this price.

You can be very specific and critical to taste it in 100% Hong Kong ways.

A traditional old Hong Kong style congee place in Toronto. I love their congee very much. Their breakfast side dishes are delicious, too. I love their background wall showing their old location in Hong Kong with a long bench. It feels nostalgic that the waiting people are sitting on the bench like waiting in front of their old location which brought us a lot of memories.

Taste of original 1970-80’s Hong Kong congee food.

congee and dough stick are my favorite. This restaurant is like a food court.witb open kitchen, but nice and bright. portion good for one person, taste more salted but ok. will come back for the congee and dough stick again.

Visited on a Thursday morning around 9:15 AM. The restaurant was about 25% full at the time but quickly filled up over the next hour. I really appreciated that they spaced out customers rather than cramming everyone into one section. Even solo diners were given four-person tables, which made for a much more comfortable experience - something you don’t often see these days.

The space was clean, and the high ceilings gave it a nice, open feel. When we were seated, the table was already set with a teapot, cups, bowls, spoons, and chopsticks. Shortly after, the waiter brought over menus along with a pen and paper for us to write down our order.

Service was a highlight. Our waiter was not only polite and friendly but also very attentive. Small touches stood out, like repeating our order back to us from memory after we handed him the list (we had only written down item numbers), and clarifying a common mix-up with the radish dish. He explained that some customers expect pan-fried turnip cake and are surprised when they receive radish in clear broth.

The congee portions are generous for one person. My grandpa had the Pork Liver and Fish Congee, which came with a good amount of both ingredients, and I had the Minced Beef Congee - also hearty and satisfying. Both were served piping hot, with peanuts and green onions on top (I just wish there were more peanuts and green onions!)

The radish dish was nice - sweet, tender, and free of bitterness, though $5 felt a bit steep for the portion. We also had the Cruller with Bean Paste, which was wonderfully soft and airy.

If you’re in the mood for comfort food early in the morning, this place is a great pick. They open daily at 8:30 AM (closed Tuesdays), making it a solid option for breakfast or brunch in the area.

Sam's Congee Delight offers a decent congee experience, though it doesn't quite hit the heights it used to. However, their sesame balls are the real highlight – absolutely delicious! Be warned though, availability is very limited, and once they're sold out, they're gone for the day, which is a shame. Still a solid choice for congee and a must-try for those elusive sesame balls.

The taste of food is not as good as before when they were located in Maket Village, and even geting worse and worse. The washroom is stink. Won't come again.
