I came here and ordered the large jerk pork for take out. Came out to be around $19 in total. The jerk pork tasted pretty good. Good mix of fatty and lean meat and good seasoning. I was expecting the gravy poured over the rice to have some flavor but it had no flavor at all. I actually liked the coleslaw that was served here. Good crunch and flavor. There are better and cheaper options for jerk pork in markham.

not sure these raving reviews.....food was average, compared to Alwynns. Hygienically the server had a dirty shirt on that was just used to wipe his hands all day. The food was prepared in the back and not in view of me. ran out of jerk chicken so got the Jerk Pork on rice. Found a hair in my food. (lack of hair net, or gloves to serve) $16.50 for a medium sized take out with a pop.....the serving size was good. coleslaw was also good.

If I had night out and wanted some soul food at midnight, this would have done it, but they close so early I cannot recommend.

Highly recommend - best jerk chicken rice I’ve had in the GTA. Excellent beef patty, value, and service also. It’s next to a high school, so seating is limited during the lunch hour.

Recently tried Spice Rack in Markham for the first time, and I'm thrilled to have finally found a spot offering Caribbean cuisine in the area as there’s almost none. The food was great and tasted authentic. Our server, a young man black man, was incredibly polite and attentive. It was so good that we completely forgot to take decent photos. Definitely looking forward to returning, food was bussin! Wish they were open on weekends :(

I got the BBQ Jerk Chicken Student Special. Came with a good portion of rice and peas, coleslaw and a chicken leg cut into two pieces. Highly recommend it as the chicken was moist, the BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy. The rice and peas were good and the coleslaw was creamy and a bit sweet which I like. Great value meal that will fill you up. You will not be disappointed.

FYI, you do not need to be a student to order the student special. The student special just represents the size of the container your food comes in.

Just tried the jerk chicken from this spot, and it was incredible! Perfectly spiced, tender, and full of flavor. The sides were just as good—especially the coleslaw. Definitely my new go-to for jerk chicken!

Went here and there was no one around to serve. Very unprofessional. They only had jerk chicken out and it looked dry and unappealing to the eye. Not sure if its because its surrounded by students so they arent attentive or just lack of good workers or combination of both.

So happy to finally have decent jerk chicken in Markham! Portions are big, chicken perfectly seasoned, coleslaw and homemade hot sauce are also hits! Jerk pork and beef patties are also delicious. Just wish they can add fried plantains with the combos. Great value and highly recommend.

Amazing food, amazing experience. I had the jerk pork with rice and peas and coleslaw and it definitely lives up to the hype as a hidden gem. It’s reasonably priced and well made. I definitely recommend it! The employees are really nice and patient.

This place is not West Indian owned or is the food West Indian seasoned. The food really lacked seasoning and had no taste. All these positive reviews must be bots or friends of the establishment. The Student special is cheap, but I would rather pay more for authentic and good tasting West Indian food.

This place is heavily misleading by those that post about it. Upon arrival I notice how un kept the place is. Dirty. A lot of clutter on the other side of the counter. The food is well; something you can make for yourself at home. Definitely not the most seasoned individual foodies come here to make posts. Please stop promoting places in your areas as “the spot” to get this type of food and have people waste their time to come out and visit these type of spots. Customers and Company shouldn’t be this misleading and or allow this type of misleading to be promoted for a profit. I get it. Marketing. But this is just sad way of doing it.

The food was alright. Cheap.
The service was understandable.

If you want to be represented appropriately. Step your culinary game up. Work for it to deserve it.

Keep at it.

I’ll check this place out in the future to see how they grow.
