Warning, This restaurant is extremely LOUD during lunch time as big table ppl yelling to talk and no sound reduction ceiling 😡 making you can't even enjoy the meal

Very average HK restaurant. Price performance was not as good as others. Parking easy. Service was good. Dishes were not the largest (had to get 5 for 4 people). Beef was quite chewy. Sweet and sour pork was not fresh.

Ordered online. Ordered 3 dishes. Sweet and sour pork on rice , sticky rice with preserved meat and beef and veggies on fried noodles. There were not a lot of pork in the sweet and sour pork dish. Lots of peppers and onions. Clearly indicated dietary restrictions. There was peanuts all over the Stuckey rice. We have a peanut allergy and made it clear on the order. We get home and what's in the food... Peanuts. Beware when you order. They clearly don't check what you write. I have screenshots and pictures of the food for proof if they respond.

Good prices. Huge portions. Excellent duck and pickled cabbage vermicelli soup, congee, sweet and sour pork, fried rice. The hot hk milk tea was delicious as well. Everything was pretty good in general. The only dish that has been a letdown is the e fu noodle with crab. The interior is nice and new. Service was actually pretty good. They also give complimentary drinks with any noodles or rice dishes before 5pm during happy hour. Cash discount.

This is a Canton style Chinese restaurant. It is good for family gathering. The food quality is going downhill. It was good the first two times I went there but this time was not great at all. The beef was too salty, the xo sauce stir fried rice noodles only numb your tongue but no taste. The deep fried spicy squid was starchy. The Chinese Style Beef Tenderloin has very little beef but onions. It's quite disappointed.

We ordered 2 dishes. They took the wrong order for one of the toppings on my fish soup noodle. It was also super salty, can’t drink the fish soup at all. When we paid the order, the waitress took the money right after we put down, and came back saying we are short on tips(It was a few cents short literally). I immediately got very angry and thinking this attitude doesn’t deserve any tips. I also work in a tip industry myself, there are ppl not paying tips, miss calculate tips, or they just don’t have enough changes, I never chase after tips! WTH!

Paid over $50 for three takeout dishes, they were awful. Beef was tough and broccoli was raw and tasteless. Same with the black bean beef, green peppers were way undercooked and no flavour to the whole dish!!! Very disappointed with this meal!!!!

Star Chef in Markham offers authentic Hong Kong–style cuisine. Service was polite and relaxed, portions fair, and flavours spot on. Enjoyed the beef congee, flavourful satay beef fried noodles, and a really strong Hong Kong milk tea.
