The North Japanese Noodle Bar

I was excited to try the ramen restaurant recommended by a foodie friend, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype I found online.

The noodles felt like instant ramen, something you’d buy from the grocery store, which didn’t justify the price. I ordered the roasted garlic ramen and a signature ramen. The soup base tasted like it was made with MSG, and the pork had an unpleasant smell, suggesting it wasn’t fresh. The veggies that accompanied the dish, Pak Choi, seemed out of place and didn’t pair well with the noodles.

Overall, the experience was underwhelming for the price.

Pretty good Ramen but definitely nothint special. Still very good tho for your normal ramen. Also very well priced aswell.

Really surprised us with some of the best chasu we've ever had! The owner was very kind to make some room for our stroller in the otherwise tight space. Gotta come back and try their set menus next time.

Very hard working owner and staff! Very polite and super smiley! Good quality service all the way until closing!

Wish I took a photo of our meal sets as the presentation was super cute and well done- but I was too excited and ate it all before I could snap one!

Would definitely recommend if you are in the Markham area!

The broth of this ramen is really strange—there’s none of the usual aroma of ramen soup. Instead, it has a plastic-like taste. The noodles are also very hard in texture, making it really unappetizing. I don’t understand why it has such a high rating. Can ratings be bought? This place doesn’t deserve such a high rating. The ratings on Google Maps are really unreliable—it’s not the first time I’ve been misled.

Best Ramen ever!
The service is amazing, they are super polite.
The place is a bit small, so take a look at non-pik hours.
They have a takeout lunch promo for Ramen that is super interesting!
Had Ramen in different places before, this was by far the best! Perfect blend and flavors. The side dishes are also really good. Several options available.
Best part, kids also loved! Was a hit!

Wife loved everything she ordered from this restaurant. Felt it was authentic. Cost is very reasonable, and you get a discount with cash. (Credit card is not accepted here.)

I have to take a star off for my order missing the seaweed, and the restaurant itself being devoid of any Japanese signage.

It is a very tiny fast grab and go ramen place but they do have four small tables and a few bar table seats there for you to dine in. Their menu varieties are limited, a few combo rice sets, some appetizers and majority are noodles. If you want to order a noodles and a snack, you can try their set menu for a greater value. You can choose one main course, one side dish from their meni and the set comes with an authentic ramune pop.

Kid-friendliness: Not recommend for a big family or kids under 6 due to space limitation.

Friendly staff. Light, good food. Kids loved it. Might be a bit hard to get parking but I definitely would come back if I am around the area.

first time here, came for my ramen craving. ordered roasted garlic ramen with karaage. the broth and karaage were a bit bland for my liking. the meat and egg were delicious though! a little disappointed as they did not give me the lunch discount for ordering between certain time. i did not noticed until i left.
they also dont accept credit card
a pain to find parking during lunch/dinner time, easier to find parking if you do underground
