A good friend of mine is visiting from Vancouver and she's a foodie, although not a blogger, so our first stop on the way in from the airport had to be for a meal, nothing fancy, just good food. We ended up in the food court at First Markham Place and it was packed, with long lines at our preferred vendors. We ended up at Owl of Minerva, on the far end of the plaza.
We ordered the KamJaTang (Pork Bone Soup) and Mul NaengMyun (Buckwheat Cold Noodles Soup). The meal included an assortment of side dishes, as usual, but they didn't have the bean sprouts, our favourite.
The KamJaTang was as good as expected - hot, flavourful, and meaty. This is always a favourite. This was my first time having the Mul NaengMyun, and it was good but I prefer hot soups.

Packaging was hard to open although visually appealing and leak proof. A knife was required to open the meal and made a mess in the process. The peel and eat shrimp and mussels in a shell are not the most ideal option when you're sitting at your desk eating lunch. My husband made quite a mess of his desk and his shirt today and followed it up by telling me that the meal wasn't very tasty. Perhaps he would have had a different experience if it wasn't so messy. This is a meal option that are chosen when you're eating at home or in the restaurant. Next time I'll send a different dish from their menu and see if my husband has a better experience. And when you look at the receipt bare in mind that the restaurant will be a lot more inexpensive if you eat there or go to pick it up yourself because the Uber eats fees are included in the receipt that I have posted.

this is the 2nd time followed by the first visit the previous night.
Last night I tried their seafood fry Udom, got lots of stuff with subtle sweetness, quite amazing.
Today I just went back for other dishes, I tried the pork potato soup. it was also great, I don't feel much MSG but with flavour. I do see great value for money.
Waitresses were nice!

Taste ok. Serve alcohol
Thank you auntie for still serving us last night even 45 minutes before closing, you’re awesome. We got the kamjatang, sundubu, kimchi fried rice and bulgogi, everything was so good and authentic. It was perfect for a very cold night. we will definitely come back, highly recommend this restaurant!
Ordered Bulgogi and Japchae. Worst I've had as it was so bland. Had to pay 40$ for both and did not even finish half of it

I had breakfast at The Owl of Minerva yesterday morning and ordered the KamJaTang (pork bone soup). This hearty dish, made with cabbage, potato, and Korean spicy pepper powder, was just what I needed since I wasn’t feeling my best. I requested it extra spicy, and it came with a side of rice. The warm, flavorful soup definitely hit the spot.
Since I arrived right at opening, the service was quick and seamless, and the quiet atmosphere made for a pleasant dining experience.
While the food and service were great, I’m unsure if I would recommend it due to the pricing. The KamJaTang cost $17 before taxes, which felt steep compared to similar dishes at other Korean restaurants. I remember coming here during my university days when the same dish was under $10. Although the price increase is understandable given inflation and rising costs, it still seems a bit high for what’s offered.
If you’re craving a comforting bowl of pork bone soup and don’t mind the higher price point, it’s worth a try. For me, while the experience was enjoyable, I’m still on the fence about whether it’s worth the splurge.

Recommended dishes: Kamjatang Pork Bone Soup
We ordered grill beef ribs, ginseng chicken soup and potato pork soup. The food is average, but the price is expensive. Not enough staff to serve customers, asked for checking out several times.
