I was very disappointed, saw the good reviews online and decided to try their house special onigiri. It's just salmon belly and what seems to be a sweet soy sauce, for 6.80 I expected more than a few slivers of salmon belly on the inside, it's mostly rice. It's very hard to recommend this place to my friends, I understand food costs have gone up but at the same time charging 6.80 for mostly rice and a sheet of seaweed is wild, especially when people work hard for there money there are better options for that price point.

Absolutely outstanding! We ordered the 90-piece mix platter from Toyosu Markham, and it was beyond impressive. Every piece was super fresh, with fish that literally melts in your mouth — you can taste the quality and care that went into it. It honestly feels like something flown straight from Japan.
The presentation was beautiful, the portion size generous, and the price very affordable for the level of quality you get. It’s rare to find sushi this fresh without paying fine-dining prices. Perfect for gatherings or a treat-yourself night. Make sure you order a day or two in advance as the best stuff will be out of stock on the day of.
Highly recommend Toyosu — this is hands-down one of the best Japanese takeout spots in Markham! 🍣🇯🇵

Great value takeout sushi. Sushi and sashimi were pretty fresh. Only the shrimp from my whole platter felt not as super fresh. Portions are generous for the price.
The sashimi was allmost too thick. It's a generous portion but I feel the texture would be better if the same pieces was sliced into two. Overall I would still recommend this, especially when you want to grab a big tray for a gathering.

This is a no-frills takeout joint that takes cash only. The workers are Cantonese speaking (not sure if they speak much English). There are no seats other than a few chairs/tables throughout the plaza.
Most customers order in advance for pickup. I didn’t realize this so ordered on the spot and waited about 30 mins.
Was having a sashimi craving, so I ordered the small sashimi party tray (41 pieces) for two people. This was a lot of raw fish for two, so in retrospect, I should’ve ordered a mix of sashimi and sushi, but that’s on me. The party tray (which also comes in medium and large sizes for bigger groups) had really good variety - only complaint possible would be a bit too much salmon. Also note the platter includes ebi sashimi as it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
The website mentions that the fish is imported straight from Japan, and ordering at least 1 day on advance will give you 5% off.
The store is a small location with 2-3 workers slicing away continuously. As such, I was a bit worried about food safety, especially as a few of the sashimi pieces tasted extra fishy. Ultimately though we were totally fine.
Would definitely order again for a party!

They don’t offer any sit down spots to eat, so I usually just get their party tray and eat at home.
Pricing is quite reasonable, and all the fish are large cuts and super fresh. I was actually super impressed by the quality!
Overall 5/5! Def one of the best spots in town.
