Really nice vibe in here. The owner is 100 percent present and involved and really a very charming person. Food was excellent. Really the only mildly negative of note was the pricing. Felt a bit high for the area but again a very nice place and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.

Omg i loved Franny, such a beautiful spirit and an amazing chef. I loved our dinner selections and was really impressed with the quality and originality of her Italian menu. Can't wait to go back.:)

Four of us had a wonderful evening here. Franny and staff were delightful, food was outstanding. Two had Mushroom Love, one a salad and one an eggplant dish, all to delicious effect. Had to have two focaccia orders. Highly recommended!

Our dinner experience was truly a special one. It’s one thing when the food is good, but when you REALLY taste the love in every bite and feel the warmth with which every guest is treated the minute they walk through the door, it makes the experience that much more memorable. We got three different dishes; all pasta cooked to perfection, generous amounts of protein and other quality ingredients, and sauce that makes you want to lick the plate clean (and we did). And not your standard tiramisu for dessert - a must-try as well. Perfect ambience, perfect service, perfect meal, and if you have the pleasure of meeting Franny and her wonderful daughter Sofia, you understand exactly why.

Hidden Gem in Meaford

It's hard to find Italian restaurants that exceed your expectations. Let me tell you, Franny's has exceeded them and beyond. Authentic, gourmet cuisine with the owner and chef checking on your service! Unbelievable!

Growing up and indulging in authentic Italian food for the majority of my life, I believed that no one could possibly impress me. Well, this restaurant in Meaford will leave you more than satisfied. The value to quality is right on point. Franny adds love to her food, and it's exceptional. I tried several dishes and they all had a beautiful balance and were absolutely incredible. There was no need for additional salt, pepper, or cheese. Please take a bite before you add additional ingredients.

I'm absolutely blown away that this amazing place is right here in Meaford!

Both my husband Joe and I are from Italian heritage and let me tell you it’s not easy to find a place that serves mouth watering authentic Italian homestyle cooking! Tonight we found Gio & Fran’s Mercato in the heart of Meaford. Not only was the food out of this world but the owner Fran is so welcoming and the ambiance and character felt like we were sitting in a trattoria in Italy!!
We found our forever go to Italian restaurant!! We recommend you go and find out for yourselves what a slice of heaven tastes and feels like!

we’re all italian so we had high expectations coming here and they were absolutely 100% met. the food is absolutely amazing. the mushroom truffle dish is fantastic and the eggplant parmesan is really good too! the rice balls and focaccia to start were perfect. the tomato sauce especially though is the best i’ve ever tasted from a restaurant- very similar to a ‘sunday dinner at nonnas’ experience. the atmosphere of the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. franny is so sweet and hospitable, you can tell she really loves and enjoys what she does. thank you for the complementary bag with the sauces!! will definitely be returning next summer x
