This establishment has never disappointed when it comes to food quality and service. The servers always come informed and eager to work with a smile on their faces. The cooks do a great job & their poutines are off the charts! If you ever find yourself passing through meaford and want something special that taste close to home this place has you covered, no complaints here. Cant wait for live music and a cold beer! I am honestly astonished by how poor of an experience visiting this restaurant is. Much worse than a simple “didn’t like the food”, or “service was bad”. Every single aspect from service, and food, to atmosphere and cleanliness were abysmal. If you are between choices, DO NOT EAT HERE. The “meal” my family had here was the worst I’ve had by far. Nothing was cooked properly, and food looked as if it was returned to the kitchen and served again. Staff and management were rude and unhelpful. Just have a look at how they respond to some of the other poor reviews, beyond unprofessional as well.

Two people from our party wanted to share the experience with this establishment and I was ready to forgive and forget until the response we received from the owner. As a person who works in management, the response is absolutely unacceptable. A simple “we’re sorry for your experience we received a higher than normal volume of customers.” Would have redeemed this experience for me. I would never return regardless but it would have redeemed the absolute nightmare of an experience we had. No one said anything about salmonella but a quick google search will tell you pregnant woman cannot eat raw fish. A grilled salmon was ordered and received raw, our pregnant friend had an anxiety attack. We calmed her down she ate wings instead and later that evening we went to the ER as she couldn’t sleep and was having intense anxiety. I have never in my life felt the need to write a negative review, no one wanted free meals. We appreciate you not charging our friend for the salmon and the dish that never arrived for our other friend HOWEVER you can’t charge them for meals that never arrived or were un edible. Truly we tried to be kind, our two friends left before us as they were angry we waited and paid. We had to tell the server a second time at the end who ordered what and how to split the bills. Two and a half hours of chaos. I understand there was a rush but not until one hour after our arrival when our orders were already in. We documented everything and to go and claim we wanted free meals is so insulting. I paid full price for something I did not order. I ordered a pita chicken wrap and got a chicken and bacon quesadilla with no complaints just addressed the situation with the server and asked for clarification. Had they informed me they had no pita bread I would have ordered something else but it was an hour and a half later I was informed there was no pita bread and I had already received my order. Any sound of mind business owner would not only apologize but offer a refund or ask for more details in an email so they can follow up with their staff and see how to best support them in future. The staff did their best with the cards they’ve been dealt, it’s time to take some constructive criticism and a management class.

Since you wanna delete my review… EDIT: there was no rush, there were 3 tables partially filled out of around 7. I have photos. The response we received is very gaslighting-coded for lack of a better term. I would not be writing this review if i cared about having a free meal. The owner does not take accountability in reference to other reviews posted and blames customers; if you would like to take a chance to peruse it. We came in to accommodate the rush (that was non existent) because we made a reservation beforehand. The restaurant is very small and easily dealt with to satisfy customers if all parties/staff are competent. I’m sorry my dear if you are reading this, but your business needs a little work and I hope you are not the server I met today because you seemed wonderful and helpful. This is coming from a place of concern for your business and the community. Do you want to make people sick? Do you think it’s okay to serve food that’s unsafe? I know you don’t and you’re trying your best, but the negative reviews should be fuel for making your living something that you’re proud of, not just to manage. I get that maybe you have a lot on your plate, but a food service may not be for you and you may want to consider somebody burying it from you as it is on the main strip and can be successful with the right management. I wish you the best, but I will not be coming back. Best of luck <3

During our visit, there was 2 tables total. Us, and another table with two people sitting at it. Between all the entre's we ordered, every single one of them had an issue. After waiting an hour and a half we recieved 50% of our orders. The fish was served raw, the pita wrap arrived as a tortilla quesadilla missing half the listed ingredients and after asking for the pico that never showed up it came with human hair inside (free of charge). The baked salmon came completely raw, the glazed chicken never showed up, when asked about it after an hour and a half we were told they were out. Ordered chicken wings as a substitute meal and they took another 45 minutes. We also ordered a buffalo chicken wrap that came with hair in it. It took over an hour for one of our diners to get a glass of water. The build your own burger we ordered came with 50% ingredients that werent asked for and missing the other 50%. After all of this, the service staff refused to discount the meal at any rate despite the worst dine out experience we have ever had. You could not pay me to return here and i would urge everyone to never dine at this restaurant. 0/10, DO NOT COME HERE.
I have worked in the restaurant industry and am very empathetic towards service staff and their hard work. This was beyond unacceptable.
PS when we called to make a reservation we were told it was $10 wing night, when our bill showed up the wings were charged at full price ($18 a pound). There was also added ser charges that nobody could explain.

The Red Door is the best spot in town for a drink and a bite to eat. The wings were delicious, and the vibes were amazing!
Love the new renovations too!!! Looking forward to coming here more often!

Good morning Shelley & mike we bought are house 4 years ago looking for a pub style restaurant we are so glad we found the Red Door I remember the first Day we walked in Nate the Manager Greeted us with staff with a warm welcome we order food that was delicious amazing drinks big screen tv. We are regularly every day since we go in to say Hi to Nate & Summer we meet are friends we don’t have to wait for drinks we haven’t even sit down are drinks are there for us this is awesome it’s our second home we injoy meeting new people watching sports jam night music events night summer on patio with live entertainment to Nate & summer thank you for your smiles laughter great service great food great atmosphere Thank you Red Door
Summer and Nate are so awesome!! Chloe was terrible and they fixed it for us!! After a year of not going there!! Thank god they were there to make our night perfect !! ❤️
I am a recurring customer of the Red Door in Meaford. My favorites are the chicken burger and the Canadian poutine! Last time I was in I was served first by Summer, who was friendly and polite. Later through our meal the manager, Nate, stopped in to check on how our meal was going. I love coming here and experiencing a little place of home.
PS I have attended their open mic nights. If you're looking for something to shake this little town up I highly recommend.
