Bob's Fresh Cut Fries

I have been to quite a few chip trucks in my life. I’m a big fan of them. Bob’s is the only one I’ve ever been to where I had to wait over 30 minutes for a hamburger and fry. No heads up or anything when ordering that I’d be waiting that long. It was a little busy but no where near waiting 30 minutes for a hamburger busy. The majority of people waiting for food had only ordered a fry or poutine. When I finally got my food there was no apology or anything for the wait which leads me to believe this is normal for them.

On top of this, I paid about 23 dollars for a hamburger, fry, drink and a side of garlic aioli. I paid about 5 dollars extra for fried onions, bacon and cheese on my burger. The onions were not fried, the cheese was non-existent. I’ve had better hamburgers from McDonald’s. The garlic aioli was good, that’s about it.

Taking the time to respond to negative reviews with excuses is likely not a very productive way to go about improving your service. As I said, I’ve been to plenty of food trucks. It was not busy enough to justify the 30+ minute wait for a hamburger and fry. Even if it was, people should be informed of the expected wait upon ordering.

As I stated, regardless of what my bill came to. I had ordered the burger with cheese, bacon and I believe it was “grilled” onions. Awfully convenient the bill that you have yet to send me states (according to you) that I didn’t order cheese or grilled onions when those are what’s missing on my burger. If this is true, somehow the girl taking my order heard me say bacon and onion but missed the cheese and “grilled” part. Seems odd.

This place usually is my go to for every part of the menu and this is what we got for a burger and we placed online order too

Can’t believe that just for fries I had to wait for 25 minutes and when asked how long it would take then girl at the pick up counter saying you have to pay! What a stupid staff so without paying I am waiting for 20 mins and when the fries arrived it was burnt and tasteless and salt less.

Highly not recommended.

Kindly do not justify for burnt fries and unprofessional behaviour. We visit occasionally on special occasions like Canada Day to celebrate. This is not about how busy or hardworking the staff are ! it’s about providing good customer service.

Really nice seating area in the shade.

Dairy free gravy :) for $3 you get three small sauce containers of gravy to dip your fries in.

Their sausage is good and there’s a porta potty behind the truck .

From someone who hunts down poutine locations in the summer, I must say this little gem is one of the best poutine I've ever had. Fresh and made with love.

69/10 every single time. I will adjust my schedule for the Thanksgiving poutine special. We have tried pretty much everything on the menu and haven't had a thing we didn't like.

Bob’s is….brilliant, this friendly little food truck serves the best fish I’ve tasted outside of the UK with the lightest fly-away batter I’ve not come across in Canada.

The fries are top quality and mixed with a good flavoured gravy and copious curds make for a poutine that met the approval of two hungry kids.

My wife ordered the fish tacos which came with two such huge pieces of fish it could be a main course in any Ottawa restaurant.

Bob’s also offers smash burgers, special poutines, hot dogs, sausages and drinks from the Perth Brewery.

Even at the height of mother’s day lunch, service was fast and friendly - we’ll be back next time with in Merrickville…nice one Bob.

My original review was 4 stars but today (May 2 2025) the crappy poutine they sold me was cold, had no gravy, every fry was old and dry, it was disgusting and a waste of $10. Not to mention the 15 minute wait when it wasn't even busy, only two customers served ahead of me. Won't go back.

Have been going to Bobs since I was a little girl. It has really gone downhill. Today I went and ordered a buffalo poutine and small poutine. I waited a long time and then a pulled pork poutine was brought to the counter and the girl told me it was mine. I said I also ordered a small poutine and this was supposed to be a Buffalo poutine. I was then told no I didn’t and I was wrong. I was made to pay for another small poutine and have the pulled pork. My order the Buffalo poutine and small poutine was then called at the counter I let them know that was the order I originally placed and paid for. Another customer then said the pulled pork was his. I get mistakes happen. But they then refused to give me a refund even though they made me pay for another poutine which I ended up gifting to some other customers. All this to say I also waited forever for my food and it was cold and the fries were hard. Will not be returning and absolutely awful customer service. Not the bobs I remember from the past, save your money.
