In 2007 I was not on Social media. So my review is 19 years overdue. I was reminded of Moms restaurant compassion, for my family as my father was losing his battle with cancer. We explained that Dad loved Mom's restaurant and his wish was to have our family of 12 eat Christmas dinner at Moms. The restaurant agreed to accomodate us with a great Christmas dinner. I even wanted seconds of turnip, which I don't like, but Moms had me desiring more. My dad passed away at 2:00 in the morning on Mother's Day 2008. You set our family at ease that Christmas, as Dad was delighted with the meal and service. To Moms restaurant and patrons Marry Christmas and Happy New year.

Four of us went to lunch today (Dec 5/25) and it was very good. Large servings and tasty food. The place was very busy but we got seated right away. I think the kitchen was overwhelmed because of how busy it was but was worth the wait.

I’ve been meaning to try Mom‘s restaurant for a while since I moved to the Midland area about a year ago. For some reason or other, I always ended up going somewhere else.
Recently, I visited mom’s for the first time after reading an article about the restaurant changing ownership. Some reviews that I read mentioned their reputation for great roast beef, but didn’t mention the breakfast.
When my companion and I arrived around 10 o’clock the dining room was about half full and our waitress Shelley came over, soon after we sat down. She was smiling with a pot of coffee in hand. While looking through the menu I noticed that the prices were very reasonable and I had a tough time deciding what to get for breakfast. I settled on western omelette but I asked if I could modify it because I didn’t want the home fries or toast and was offered a couple of different options to substitute. I settled on a side house salad, which included some lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber, and a simple oil and vinegar dressing, which was brought on the side.
The food arrived at our table fairly quickly and looked great!! My companion had ordered a mushroom and cheese omelette with home fries, and toast and both omelettes and everything else on our plates was fantastic. The Omelettes themselves were fluffy and delicious!! The salad was fresh with crispy, lettuce and cucumber and fresh tomato! My friend’s home fries and toast were cooked perfectly.
As an extra added bonus, I found out that they also sell Saint Viateur bagels which are imported from my favourite bagel shop in Montreal so I had to buy a six pack to take home. I was a little disappointed when Shelley brought the bag of bagels to the table and they were frozen because I didn’t think that I could re-create that amazing crispy on the outside soft on the inside bagel experience that Montreal bagel fans know in love. When I got home, I air fried the bagels whole so they got crispy on the outside and then sliced them and buttered them. To my amazement and delight, the final product had that great taste and consistency that made me think I was on the Plateau in Montreal.
When we got up to leave the restaurant, it was almost full so I’m sure Mom’ will continue the tradition of great meals in a super cozy setting!!
I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years and these new owners know what they’re doing!! I can’t wait to go back to mom‘s for dinner!!!!

We were on our way to Casino Rama from Mississauga and found this place on Google maps. Oh my goodness!!! The food is absolutely amazing and good size portions. Highly recommend and we will definitely make the drive from Mississauga again!!
