Experience was very disappointing due to poor customer service. Staff is extremely rude and unwelcoming. Unfriendly responses from the staff.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements to their customer service

China Garden is a huge letdown due to untrained and unethical staff placed in the job.
I worked in the same building and called them to place an order over the phone. The man, who took my call firstly denied to take dine in order over the call. I informed him that I often placed order with them and if he could help me. However, he started arguing in an impolite manner. I decided to placed take-out order and asked for the lunch-combo options. To my astonishment, this guy answered that I must know their combos since I often visited them. What a Customer Service you guys offer! What if a customer is interested to try your other combos?
I went to their restaurant to have words with their Manager. The same guy claimed himself as a Manager and didn’t ready to listen my words.
Another staff member, Rupali, also behaved in a defeatism manner.

You guys need to work on Customer Service part.

This is not the same place that it used to be. Know it years ago but today it’s zero. Prices keep increasing, quality decreasing, commodity size decreasing. Got food today that should not be on a table. Too much oil in noodles , with very less veggies or chicken. Chilly chicken was without gravy and taste nasty. Have called them up earlier for stuff like that but this is the last time I’ll have dined their.

Very confused and put off by the 10% "Service Charge" that has recently been added to the bills.
When I asked what the charge was for, their only explanation was "it's on every bill now".

Eating cold food tonight it seems like. What’s the point of ordering over the phone and then waiting 45 minutes. Goofed up but no accountability. On top of that they are charging 3% on already inflated prices. Terrible experience.

Very poor service food is ok ok

Had the General Tso Chicken and spring roll lunch special with soup.

The main dish was poor. I didn't like the taste and it was very messy. The spring roll was nothing to write home about but the soup was alright.

The ambience was average as well

I don't recommend this place for Chinese food.

Hakka Chinese taste is significantly different from what you get from a Cantonese/HK Restaurant so if you favour that, go there instead.

This place is a true gem. Been coming here for almost 20 years now and it's exactly the same. Very nostalgic. Food is exceptionally good. This is still the best Hakka restaurant. It's the first one that started them all.

Food is always good here. The wait staff and fraudulent practices is appalling. I went here before and I noticed the server enter an amount on top of the total, then asked for a tip which you cannot decline on the machine. This time I asked the girl for a receipt before paying. She refused my demand 3 times until I said I would not pay. Once I saw the receipt, I saw the 10% service charge, and then she demanded I pay her a tip (what?) and a 3% Credit Card fee. I declined and paid cash. I had to walk up to the server to get water after 10 mins into my dining experience. I had to ask for my receipt 20 feet away 3 times because she was too busy on the phone to attend to the ONLY Patrons in the PLACE! (what establishment does that?). If it wasn't for the food and my wifes nostalgia to Malton, I would never come here.
