I have been coming here since 2009. Way before the big renovation. Food is amazing and well priced. Now if only they would bring back the Chilli Chicken.
This place has been around forever, they renovated a few years ago. Their food is a very old school type hole in the wall style, very hard to describe exactly. It’s good but it’s never consistent. It used to be better prior to their renovation, now the costs have gone up and the quality down. Service is always hit or miss, sometimes like today the service was great but sometimes depending on who’s working the service is lacklustre. I solely come here for the nostalgia factor, better restaurants out there but it’s a decent place.

Have been here a few times. Food is great, however the the older gentleman at the counter doesn't have any smile at all or maybe that's how service is, over here.

Ordered thali with malai kofta, saag, mixed veg. They switched the mixed veg for shahi paneer. No idea why they would switch a vegetables dish with something heavy and creamy, when they have othet veggie dishes. No one contacted me to let me know, as every other restaurant has.
Food was tasteless, anyway. Malai kofta was barely decent. The others were tasteless. The boondo in the raita were so soggy, they melted in my mouth. Never happened before. Never ordering from this restaurant again.

Price and quantity ratio compared to other Indian restaurants in Malton, is subpar. What this restaurant really specializes in is its SWEETS. It is by far the best choice for sweets in the area.

I ordered Dahi Bhalla from Sweet India and was very disappointed. The portion size was extremely small, and instead of authentic Dahi Bhalla, they just used the vegetable thali dahi with frozen bhallas. This is unacceptable and feels like a shortcut. Shame on them for compromising quality like this. Definitely not worth the money.

I don't know who that old man is. He lost his life when employee shared sample of sweets that i was buying.
His argument - oh you cant taste our sweets well without warming them at room temperature for 30 min. Our fridge where we keep sweets is minus temperature (really? You keep indian sweets in freezer?) We're jn business from 83 and blah blah blah.
Buddy, if you dont want the customer to taste samples, just say it or put a board.
I came to your shop many times with family and liked the food.
You lost a genuine customer from neighborhood. While trying to post the reviews, i realized why you have so low reviews.

We have been going there since 1991. Back in the day they were famous for their kadi-chaawal. They renovated over the years with new additions to their menu. ** you can not beat their chollley bhature. Very little oil in the bhature unlike others**. No wonder lots of grass go there for butter chicken and naan

Visited Sweet India and decided to try their paneer bread pakora and a samosa. There was only one bread pakora left, and I’m glad I got it — it was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and full of flavour. The samosa, however, didn’t quite meet my expectations in taste. What really stood out was the amazing service; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome. Even though I had to wait a few minutes for my order, the warm hospitality and that delicious bread pakora made the visit worthwhile.
