I went into Babs on Monday to order a birthday cake for my granddaughter's twelve birthday. The theme was basketball. I was told it would cost $45. I agreed on the price with pick up on Thursday which was the day before the party. I was called on Wednesday to say that the boss indicated that it was a specialty cake and the price would be $97. I felt that this was too much of an increase and indicated that I was now without a cake. I also felt that they should stand by their original quote. Canadians gauging Canadians!!! How sad, although the dear lady who was left to call me with the bad news was very kind and offered to stay late to make some kind of cake. Which is more than I can say for the owner. Left in a lurch!!!

When I first arrived in Napanee, I visited this charming bakery on Dundas Street. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the establishment was clean and welcoming. However, my experience was marred by the Turkey Croissant Combo I purchased. Unfortunately, the croissant was stale and tasted old, while the accompanying chocolate cookie was dry and brittle. Given the high expectations for a small-town bistro, I was disappointed in the quality of the food. I believe it would be beneficial for the owner to inform customers about the age of their products before sale, especially considering the premium prices and the desire to support local businesses.

Great service and very delicious desserts for a reasonable price. Their croissants are the best looking and tasting I've ever had. Highly recommend stopping by if you want a baked good.

Stopped in for cupcakes, in a Saturday morning. There wasn't much variety but I purchased 8 and 2 Ginger Cookies. The Cupcakes were really dry and the buttercream really sweet. The ginger cookies, string ginger but that's okay, but very dry. Really disappointed considering what I paid for all of it. I'm always one to give a place a 2nd try but not sure I want to waste my money on dry food..
