“A g/f lunch spot. There is a bakery in the basement where they make what they sell. Breads, quiche, desserts are excellent.
Lots of gift and cute household items to see and buy.
Tables are spread out so great for visiting. Bathroom clean and well looked after.
I'd certainly go back.”

“Today I took my Mother-In-Law out for lunch and decided to go to Spuds Restaurant. My Mother-In-Law has a lot of issues eating certain foods due to Radiation and Chemo on her throat. She decided on a plain omelette to try. And yes, she had a lot of problems trying to swallow. The owner asked if she could bring her a Rice Pudding as it was good a creamy. Even though she never complained about the omelette. One thing she can eat is Rice Pudding. What an amazing and kind thing to do, without being asked. Thank you so much Sue, you were so compassionate . I will highly recommend Spuds Restaurant. And by the way, my meal was awesome. 👍💕”

“This is my favourite place to get sushi! Yesterday my 3 yr old repeatedly asked for sushi for lunch so we went down and just grabbed 2 rolls to share, the owners are so sweet chatted with myself and my son while we waited for our sushi. Definitely recommend Sushi Nori!”

“If you love homemade food that you really can’t find anywhere else- the Royal Coachman is the place to go. We have been coming here for over 25 years. The food is amazing. Highly recommend. Our fav is the mushroom caps with homemade croissants & the Chicken Wellington served with potato, candied carrots, & mixed vegetables. As far as I can tell I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is always good & so friendly & welcoming.”

“On Saturday, August 1st. 2026 I led a group of 18 motorcycles & 19 people in total for a tour around Hay Bay & the Napanee area. I pre booked the elevated west room for our lunch stop Mr. Chips ( we have eaten here once a summer ride for several years now ). Never a disappointment! Terrific service from the young lady server who has cared for us many times before. I canvassed our folks after lunch & all agreed the menu & quality of food & service was exceptional. Thanks so much. See you on next summer’s ride to the area.”

“Came in for a quick breakfast before going to sandbanks. We asked for recommendations and the lady at the front said they didn't offer breakfasts. We obviously meant if they had any kind of pastry she would recommend. Food was good enough but service just wasn't it.”

“We try to go the Waterfront River Pub at least once a summer. We had a good meal, at a table right by the river. Unfortunately, the wasps were REALLY bad; at one point, there were five of them buzzing around us as we were trying to eat. It really does detract from the experience. One year, they had wasp traps hung all around the patio... that would make a big difference. I am uncomfortable enough regarding insects that I would think twice about going, again. That is a shame, because we love the setting, and the food is good.

“We were in Mr. Sub tonight and there was a lovely girl named Hannah that was working all by herself. She was swamped and I watched her serve 5 other customers, before she served me and my husband. She was left with unfilled products, and not very much bread on her shift but she was the best worker I have ever seen. She would politely tell people she had to fill up things like mayo and sauces as they ran out, and she never lost her cool once. She was smiley and polite to everyone she served, and also made polite conversations with everyone. She definitely needs to be celebrated as a great worker, as we are in a time of unkind people. She is a great customer service provider and you should be proud to have her on your team. We left her a good tip, I hope she gets to keep it 😊”

“I used to love Subway, and so did my kids when they were little. In fact, I remember when Subway was even offered at their school as a hot lunch option. It used to be an affordable, quick, and reasonably healthy choice when you needed something on the go.

Unfortunately, over the past few years, my experience has changed dramatically. Customer service has gone downhill. A smile seems to be a rare occurrence, some locations don't feel as clean as they should, and occasionally there's an unpleasant smell when you walk in.

The biggest issue, though, is the pricing. The cost of a simple sandwich has nearly doubled. What used to be a convenient and affordable meal now feels overpriced for what you're getting. At today's prices, you almost expect sit-down restaurant service rather than fast food.

It's disappointing because this was once a place my family genuinely enjoyed. I hope Subway can rediscover what made it so popular in the first place: good value, friendly service, and a consistently pleasant experience.”
