Duke's has changed a lot since opening because they're always growing their services and products.I finally got a sandwich! One of the better sandwiches in the Ottawa area, with an affordable price of $8.95 each (March 2024). They could use some more topping options, like sun dried tomatoes, banana peppers, artichoke dip, or sauerkraut, but it still has decent toppings. More sauces than Dijon mustard and mayo would be really great, like a spicy mayo, pesto, or pesto mayo. Ultimately, it is quite good and I recommend it.People seem to love Nocastro's but I was underwhelmed there. Duke's is definitely the better sandwich choice.I can't give it 5 stars because the best European Deli I've been to is Vincenzo's in Kitchener ON, and it's just a level above.

Wonderful store and friendly staff, very helpful. Duke's is full of very interesting food products from Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia and many other countries. Spices and juices, chocolate, cookies,cheese and many more to choose from. They have freshly made coffee, cakes,and other goodies. Highly recommend ?

Duke Fine Foods has a great variety of Eastern European foods. Nice to have a store like this in Ottawa, as it reminds me of the old Budapest Deli in Byward Market, the Eurodeli on Merivale, and the Polish store on Richmond Road, all long gone now. The Duke's specialties are the wide assortment of meats from familiar brands (Sikorski, Piller), and specialty brands (Don José), cheeses, smoked fish (salmon, trout, sturgeon), tons of preserves, jams, sweets, bread (fresh from Montreal), pierogies, specialty diary products, and their homemade desserts which they'll take orders for gluten-free options. Most of the items are Polish origin, but they also have goods from Ukraine to Germany to Hungary. They also have a sandwich and espresso bar, but they weren't making any sandwiches the day I visited, so that will be in a future post.The staff are knowledgeable, and a good place to practice your Polish. With so much variety in the store, you'll no doubt leave with something extra special.

The sandwich was an 8/10, well made and had great taste. Unfortunately, I had to wait approximately half an hour between the time I got there and the time I got my sandwich. There was one person making sandwiches, she was often interrupted by customers waiting as long as I did or by coworkers. If I didn't have to wait such an unreasonable time, it would have been 4.5 ⭐ for sure.We'll see what next time is like.

Ordered a dozen sandwiches for my son’s hockey team. Each half is big enough to pass as its own sandwich! Bread and toppings were fresh and my order was ready at 11am, when they opened, just as I’d asked. I will be back!

they have new products often, staff is friendly and helpful, and there's a great variety of import grocery stuff that isn't easily found elsewhere. they do coffee and sandwiches, too.
